i ve taken out aux drive belt and it is still good. currently unable to
start the car due battery very weak and i believe even starting using
jumper cable it wont last long coz alternator wont charge. i might later
fully charge the battery and drive the car to within aam coverage area
and have them tow the car to PA.

AFAIK, the alternator could be more than 1k. Two T5 owners I know have
already changed them.
already changed them.

"the lights on after engine start are actually 1-low
washer fluid level,2-low level fuel level,3-bulb failure warning
light,4-battery charge failure,5-brake circuit failure, 6-low coolant
level,7-lamda"
its totally alternator damage. changed it and all warning lights gone.
workshop charge rm1190 for alternator.

Actually that's odd that so many lampls lighted up. As to my knowledge,
once the alternator is giving problem, there's minimal or no charging to
the battery. In your case, the headlamps, horn, starter works
effortlessly ? Maybe it's just some grounding on the alternator that
needs looking into. Can you get back your old alternator and investigate
(provided the mechanics really return you yours and didn't screw it up) ?
Anyway, thanks for the info so that we know what to expect if everything
lights up.

razor,
luckily no other problem except to the bank balance
i replaced mine last year with oe bosch for rm900++. the only symptom i
got was that my battery was continually going flat and every other day you
had to go out for a long drive to recharge the battery.
initially i thought it was the battery going to battery heaven, but when a
spanking brand new battery exhibited the same symptoms within 4 days, i
went back to the battery shop and gave the fella a piece of my mind.
subsequently i had to go to the automotive electrician to accertain the
condition of the charging circuit, and 4 out of the 4 i went to, all
concluded that the alternator was dying albeit slowly. and there was no
point in repairing the unit as the fees would be incredulous and there was
no guarantee it would work once repaired.
so in the end, i shopped for brand new oe bosch(which i got eventually),
oe volvo bosch (too expensive), recond volvo unit (also damn expensive.
the guy wanted rm1600), & potong shop volvo unit (rm700 came with 3 month
1 for 1 warranty, but needed to take it to his recommended mechanic).

900rm is cheaper, maybe thats spare parts shop's price. mine is workshop
price, sure they mark up first.
yes, there are a lot of lights. i suppose the alternator is already
damage. i think thats why while driving the alternator may sometime seized
and will effect the whole aux belt (and it will produce a loud sound).
then the engine will died down. i saw some parts broken inside it.
