vol940,

No lah, not stupid question at all. TRW brand normally u can get at the
same place the ori brand balljoint at the major spareparts outlet. TRW
brand slighty cheaper than the ori one. go for ori also recommended.

but, is it ur balljoint 'koyak' or other thing like bushing, tie rod etc
etc. normally here in kuantan my mechanic would do some checking &
verifying before changing this & that. doing simple inspection laaa.macam
tu..

If your ball joint and/or tie rod is worn, you can hear knocking sounds
when you go over bumps/uneven roads. The rubber bushes on the front
stabliser bar of the 850GLTs are also prone to wear and tear giving you
similar knocking sounds but I don't know whether the 940s share this
problem.

Looks like you'll go around with a lighter pocket, vol940.Smile

Cap,

Yeap 940 also have similar problems. Prior to sent my car to PA, the
unwanted sounds are;

1. Go over bumps, got knocking/squeking sound
2. Steering got 'klok' sound whenever you turn at low speed.

PA change a few bushes (tie rod, stabiliser etc) for Item 1
For Item 2, they open up the whole steering column and regrease them.

The one that I can remember is they charge me RM 40/pc for tie rod bush
because SA6 managed to get at RM 5/pc. As for a few other bushes, I could
not remember the price.

Ciao

yups... i guess there might be some bushes might need to be changed.. ok,
in 240 we have 2 front bush (i dont know, arm bush kott).. previously, the
knocking sound while riding on uneven road occurs, the bush changed and
solved!! the knock sound when steering turned solved by changing worn tie-
rod end.. ermmm... i guess thats all...
