i believe you wanted to sell off your car and put your trust with the salesman by giving him your car to find a buyer. Nothing much we can help unless fellow forumers know this person and provide detail his whereabout. Lookslike you have to service your loan with PBB .

Just wondering in this case, let say you still have comprehensive insurance, will the insurance company compensate?

No, insurance will not compensate.

The reason is, you willingly pass your key (without duress) to the other person.
Same scenario if you pass the car key to your friends/family, car jockey at hotel/pub/parking, car wash/polish/wax centre, etc.

This is new info for me. Even if the car was stolen after being parked by a car jockey? If true, this is one more good reason not to let jockeys park our cars.

This is what my friend working in General Insurance (Claims dept) share with me. They have rejected quite a number of cases before.

It's like you GIVE the keys away without being forced (duress). So, if it is lost, doesn't it mean is your own fault ?

e.g. Why do you give your keys to a car jockey/wash person that you don't even know his name, details, whether if he is a staff or not (even though wearing uniform), or employed, etc. ? Why not you give the car keys to me laugh.gif ?

Easy, just give a call to your friendly insurance SA or the general line and ask about this wink.gif

Just to add, the point here is:
- You GIVE the car keys away to stranger (or even your friend/family)

The point is NOT about:
- The car is stolen by car jockey/car wash.
- or the car is hijack when driven by car jockey.
- or the car is stolen when parked at jockey/valet.
