I think to be practical, depending on the materials used and the
construction of the building..maybe certain basement levels may be too
deep for the radio waves to transmite.

I have set my expectations clear.. not expecting much from it.. just want
to know if the autostart function works or not or the boot open works or
not.

What about other reputable brands.. do they live up to what they claim as
to the radius of their radio waves?

hi pcphobic,
yeah it depend of the deep and the structural of the building to get
radio waves! that is why i said MUST make sure with the people that the
device really work! for 3000ft i think is 1km liao! but the problem is
will it works?
about the Auto start well i think it will function lah but manual
car dunno will do or not (unless when park car put at free gear)!
well from my opinion lah! that device with so many functions yet is
cheap but how long can it last? really no hard feeling ok! just curious
because normally so many functions will let the device into malfunction
if usage is too much!
one more thing is "if the device malfunction" can we switch it off
manually? of we stuck there cannot move at all? personally lah, i prefer
those device can shut down manually using code because is impossible for
me not to use the car if anything happen right especially OUTSTATION!

higher price! why? just like what i says i throw a lot ??? to the guy but
then he cannot gurantee just like in basement 3 BUT he said "people
already install and so far so good"! wah lau if i'm the unlucky and so
far not good then i MATI lor!
i don't remember what is the brand for my alarm but the COST is
RM320 and functions are :
1. central lock
2. brake lock
3. auto arm (if forgot to lock the door)
4. shock sensor (those the glass break baru TIU TIU TIU)
5. silence mode
6. back up siren (use the own batt, and wire cut off also TIU TIU unless
got key to shut up)
7. door warning (if didnt close it will double signal)

hi pcphobic,
the 2 web sites you stated look like same lah but one from China and
the other from UK leh! normally thing for China cannot be trusted lah BUT
some really a good one lah (not car alarm system lah)!
just worst case scenario ok:
situation 1:
if the thief break in the your car at Basement where the radio is weak
but he tear out the transmitter (very easy to recognize one because with
antena) then how you going to trace it?

situation 2:
using immo and stock alarm, the thief may get into it BUT he cannot start
the car because equip with immo! good immo need TIMES to break into it~
then by the time you back you may still see your car lah!

situation 3:
***tor system at RM1995(i think so for proton stock alarm's car) even if
when the break into the stock alarm BUT the ***tor only activated when
you back to car park and find your car not there then call ***star! if
the time frame is 2 hours the car might in container where the ***tor
cannot trace it liao! even it can trace it but i think your car also
partially recover only like most vital spare parts sure gone!

aiyo so many cases also cannot DETER the TOW TRUCK one lah! at first when
i spent RM1500+ i was thinking i can buy the BIG CHAIN use for ship's
anchor and when i park my car must chain it to the building pillar lah!
or maybe if you can get the MPPJ or MPJB tyre's lock also very good and
people won't steal your car BECAUSE book by the Majlis already! he he he

You buy RM500 MOTOROLA walkie talkie also they claim 5 mile radius. But
in reality, it's lower than that. So how? Cannot buy walkie talkie lor
like that.

To me, a 2-way alarm system almost the best you can have to protecting
your car's parts (not car theft specifically). The best of course is an
SMS system which will send you SMS everytime something happens to your
car, like in the new BMW M5.

is there any alarm that can incorporate a sim card. if yes, then would be
nice since now maxis have a function called friend finder... so we will
have a rough location where the car about.... but provided maxis got
service lar...

savagez, the solution for that is simple. Just buy a cheapo phone and put
in that sim card. Then wire up the charger to your car's electrical system
so it will always be on. Hide the phone somewhere in your car.

But if your engine is off, the phone's battery will start to drain. Then
when it's finally dead you'll have to take out the phone again and turn it
on.
