I will get my diesel car in couple weeks.
As the diesel quality in Malaysia are low grade.
No choice and not fair for Malaysian using diesel vehicle.
My question is,
which fuel company have better diesel quality?
( Relatively high grade among our low grade diesel )

a)Shell
b)Caltex
c)Petronas
d)Mobil
e)Projet
f)BHP

Thank you.

Hi D4D,

From sources, in a nutshell, BP/BHP gets thier diesel from Singapore which
is at least euro 2 compliant (<500ppm). Recently, thier govt has stipulated
to go lower (50ppm). So in this sense, BP diesel is the 'cleanest' and the
best you could say.

Dunno which is best, as there are differing views .
I use mainly Esso/Mobil sometimes Petronas and Caltex.
Performance seems to be the same. with some smoke from all.

From some postings, apparently the yellow kerang brand is worse. V high
sulphur levels and possibly black smoke. But to be fair, its best to try
a few and compare, namely Petronas, BP and Projet.

When I 1st change from Petrol to diesel car, the feeling on the diesel
engine running is very much different, so much of torque, but lower speed.
I can't feel which diesel is more or less power. There was many yrs ago.

So new diesel kaki need a little time to get used to driving diesel. Then u
may tell which is good. Same brand of oil, can feel different varies fr
station to station.

D4D u getting Vigo?

Thanks for all feedback here.

Hi,911...
yes,i will get Vigo soon.
As Commonrail fuel injection system need the cleaner/higer grade of
diesel to produce substantially higher pressure and inject much more
finer fuel for improve combustion efficiency.
Dirty/ low grade diesel will make the fuel injector 'jam'.
I heard that maintenance cost for commonrail Injection system is quite
high.
so,better choose the good diesel instead.

Hi all,

personally, i use project diesel, seems like project give my citroen 1.9D
more power, second choice is BP. these are the 2 brand i trust.

My previous owner also recommend project.

i have try esso before but not good, no power compare to project/bp.

Also to share the caltex delo 400 is a good engine oil, just changed and
found out that my little cit love it very much & the engine temp. also
good.
