Anybody out there know whether there is any suzuki vitara or Jimny or
Grand Vitara owners club or forums here in malaysia? They have it in UK
and Australia, very nice websites and informative. Unfortunately I don't
seem to find any here. I found 2 threads discussing about the car in
autoworld but not so active, faded away in mid-2004 if I'm not mistaken.
It's good to have a continuous forum especially when looking for parts. I
called Lion Motor Sdn Bhd this morning asking about parts, they are
shifting to a new place in Hicom-Glenmarie, so cannot entertain much.

Hi vk9,
Thanx for replying, almost thinking that nobody bother about this car
nowadays. I've been using 1.6 Efi, 16 valves manual, 5 drs for the last 2
years. Love the car, versatile, good to carry my family & to attend to my
outdoor activities, acceptable FC.Wink

i am thinking to get the 2.0 one... heard that 1.6 is seriously
underpower for a 5 doors vitara.

my friend got 1 escudo (imported vitara 1.6)... he is complaining about
no power, expensive parts as he just replace some parts of the aircond,
high FC.

So far i don't feel any power lack, maybe because it's manual. If auto,
theoretically any car you can feel a bit of slow power transfer i.e.
during climbing a slope or during full passenger. As for FC, so far rough
gestimate for mine is about 1.2km/litre (KL traffic condition). Highway
condition should be better. I've no comment about 2.0 since 1.6 is
sufficient enough for me. I presumed that you have also read the
discussion about 2.0 in the previous forum. Parts price is considered
acceptable, slightly higher than protons. I agree with the aircond, not
like proton, so I tinted all windows recently to lessen the burden on the
aircond.
