Nabira's RPM

I know, I know one kind soul (Ajay, Tazlan) had posted this some time ago
but I can't seem to find it. What is the 1.8 Nabira's RPM at various
speeds, say 100 km/h, 120 km/h, 140 km/h? I'm asking to "scientifically"
verify whether mods such as Pivot, Cyclone, Tufoil (additives) have any
discernable effects on the RPM. Many thanks.

I dont think the above can increase the car speed with same RPM..because
Speed of the car is determined by RPM and Gear Ratio.

You probally wil feel the car is more powerful and responsive ie faster
time to achieve certain speed and faster gear kick down ! Ada Ummmmp !


Can imagine this : Put in the cyclon , change the air filter to K&N ,
remove the Cat etc , plus put the car in sports mode...the nab will be
very wild..

even now without all these mod..the car pun sudah wild in sports mode.

The argument goes like this: with better combustion, lubrication etc comes
better efficiency, hence the car can achieve faster speed at less RPM.
This was claimed by Broquet (see their website), a claim that has
been "scientifically" rebutted in http://www.fuelsaving.info/debunk.htm

I've had Pivot and cyclone2 installed out of curiousity and "gatal". The
real aim is to boost fuel consumption, with oil prices climbing by the day.
I honestly "feel" that the car drives better. Anyway, I thought perhaps
checking out the RPMs and fuel consumption is more scientific than relying
on "feel", short of going for a lab test. On that note, see for instance

Lastly, zOOL, x-tune carries K&N filter for Nabira at RM200. Check out
their website.

I'm also in the quest to find the right combination of devices to achieve
a better FC. I have not done anything on my car yet (worry about warranty
void), but this is what I think I might want to do to my car.

1) Retune ECU for optimum FC.
2) Change tyre to a 'energy saving' tyre. Eg. Michelin MXV8, Continental
ContiEcoContact EP/CP.
3) Inflate the tyres with nitrogen. This will further reduce the tyre heat
(that will also reduce the rolling resistance of the tyre).
4) Install fuel catalyst. Eg Broquet.
5) Fill in the engine with oil addictive. Eg Tufoil.
6) Change the air filter to a better one. Eg K&N.
7) Change the spark plug cable to a thick one or change spark plug to the
one like splitfire.

I do not think that inducing air to the fuel line (like sorbo) will do any
good. I have read one forummer said his rpm meter runs high even at idle.
A new car should have ECU clever enough to do an optimised air/fuel
combination.

And I do think a lighter foot is another important factor to get a better
FC.

Anyone care to comment on my findings?

The lighter foot (and food) works best! In the Singapore Opel Forum,
someone mentioned about getting really good FC if you keep your RPM below
2500. I`ve been trying but susahlah, cannot resist going accelerating
with ooomph. Puasa is easier.

If you have put all those things in and you notice that your car can
perform better in engine performence and pickup ,there is no way you are
going to have lighter foot ,my friend..mesti mahu tekan all the
time....you need SELF DISCIPLINE...alamak macam cikgu pulak ....

The Cyclone will make the car have better FC , bacuse the air intake is
stroger and will be in form of spiral ( macam tornedo ) , which will
allow the air going into the conbustion camber easier than the one
without cyclon ( which have higher risistance). So better air / fuel
ratio will definately improve FC....If have better air filter , better FC
too.

About the Pivot point,it will help to maintainthe car voltage and
prevent voltage dipping ...that will help the ECU and engine sensor to
work more stable and same goes to the sparks by the sparksplug too.

Overall improve a few bhps...

I am no mechanic guys but I guess the most logical choice then would be to
ensure better combustion. Helps engine to be efficient and because of it
there is better fc ...and power too.

Other things that would help are ...drag must be low. Include road as well
as wind drags.So tire and nitrogen would help. Thule box will increase FC.

Exhaust system must be efficient too i suppose so that good combustion can
be sucks out fast.

Driving style is also very important. Dragging on low gears will increase
FC. Staying on low gears when a higher one is all that it needs also add
high fc. Other contributers...Driving at speed where gear could not change,
too many braking and thus change gears...

Have you used it before?

Anyway, I have invited them to be part of Oct 31 TT gathering session
whereby they will share some technical know-hows with the group. This
will include a physical demonstration of the structure and workings of a
fuel tank (have you seen one up close before?)

Perhaps you can join us to share your knowledge with the rest of us? At
the same time, we can all ask Hicom the eternal question - what does the
warranty consist of and ask for technical explanation as to what aspects
will ensure or void this warranty factor.
