Sat test drive the Lancer 1.6L.

Power wise not as easily come as Waja..maybe because the INVec need to
study my behavior of driving..

I trying to do a quick push on the acceralation and the engine is quiet
loud in deed

on the suspense and handling wise.it handle corner in a soft way instead
of waja .

A bit lower down compare with Waja.

I agree with n4SPEED that, if it equipt with mivec then we can see alot
of different.

I notice also the drum break in behind but the sales person said it come
with EBD,ABS so it should have no problem of stopping. (doubt on this).

I check on the spec , the power power is a lower a bit compare with a
Honda CT 110..106. maybe it emphaziez in mid and lower end instead of high
speed.

Wisely, don't go for both......go for Citroen C3 at RM103k or C4 at RM119k.
Both also 1.6 and its handle and behave much much better than both. Fully
CBU from France. Full of latest technologies and electronic gadgets.

You'll see the total differences and won't go back to the 2.

HI N4Speed,

"rear look a bit too `Waja` to me...

???..sorry,really unacceptable,.."

Why unacceptable? 8 out of 10 friends I knew mislead the new Lancer as
Waja from the rear... dimension could be differnt but the feel is the
same...

Yes, the rear look is similar to EVOs... cos it`s the same car. But I`ve
seen quite a number of Wajas modding the rear to have the plate located
on the bumper instead of the boot cover, they do look like EVO. Perhaps
I`ll put it this way....

"rear look of Waja is too "Lancer" to me.

and the 4G18 engine, Mits will never learn. ... totally dissapointed with
it.

hi,

I have tested Lancer 1.6 CVT sport at Tesco there this morning. The
interior part is just normal, but the is quite comfortable compare to
some other cars at that range. The room inside is slightly bigger
compared to Sentra and City, but the boot is not as big as these two.

For the power, still acceptable but of course the power is better than
Sentra 1.6L (that i have tested, the salesman said the car is still new,
not run in yet, well...no comments).

Now i have 3 in my mind, buy Lancer, City or Sentra...I need some precise
comments and feeds from you guys here. I hope that you guys can give me
comments at these areas for these 3 cars: Power, Safety, Fuel
consumption, price, after sales service, 2nd hand value, spare parts,
technology and quality.

I am from Penang, most of the time i will use my car to go to office.
About 20km from my house with some city + highway drive. My driving style
is normal, not aggressive but sometimes i need some power to over take
cars.

Thank you.

Regards,
KnokSmile

knok,

I'm a 5 months old Sentra 1.6 A owner. I hope I can give you some fair
comments on the car though ppl say, whoever sells flower will say their
flower is fragant.

Power : I dare not say very but quite underpower for it's weight. In the
papers, the numbers are impressive (118hp) but when you drive the real
car, uh uh, it felt slow and heavy.

Safety : If you opt for SG-L, it'll come with rear disc brake and ABS.
Dual airbags and strengthen chassis are standard.

Fuel Consumption : I do not wanna scare you. Of all 3 choices you
mentioned, I personally think Sentra is the worst. For mine, it'll only
makes 12km a day, go thru numerous bumps, traffic lites and jam areas in
KL AND I've got 17" 215/45 hooked onto it. So it's heavy and slow. The
numbers I am getting are around 7.9km/L which translate to current fuel
price of 20 cents per km OR 292km per RM60.

After Sales : Well, so far, I'm glad with Tan Chong's service center.
Thumbs up, and also a reason why they got the best in consumer
satisfaction thru JD Powers.

2nd Hand Value : Typical Japanese used car value but lower than Toyota's.

Spare Parts : No problem.

Technology : VTC, not as advance as VVTi or i-Vtec. But if it's the
Singapore version, the cVTC is equavilant. Do more research thru the web.

Quality : Honestly, workmanship is good and car is solid. I heard many
ppl say tht it'll start to loosen up after a couple of years, I don't
know yet but my previous ride, a 96 Corolla SEG is darn solid!

Hope this helps to give you a clearer picture on Sentra.

Oh yeah, to add on some extras :

NVH : good, quiet, comfortable and smooth.

Suspension : good handling, at least better than Altis and my previous
SEG. Bites pretty well on corners... or is it my 17"?

Space : Not too big cabin but acceptable.

just hv a quick view on it during lunch break...price tag RM103K
OTR..first glance is exterior look still okie...quite nice....better than
waja lar pliz...open the boot..okie..spacious enuf...knock knock a bit on
the car body...great...body quick solid..strong steel feel...sit inside a
bit...feel comfortable as well....interial just look normal..nothin to
shout loud for a car above 100k...look at the rear rim...eee...no disc
brake worr...but rear side with multi-link suspension...not bad....then
open the bonnet...ohhh...not good...the engine bay is so empty and wiring
dangling here and there...worst than waja...it let me think of my
wira....very old proton days look.....u must see it to believe...hehee..

If to decide now, i'll go Altis....if budget a factor, i'll take new
H.City in fact...but the salesman told that 'big' discount can be given
lar...as much as 8k wor...don know how true..
