As stated by Omnipotent, try to install the grounding kit. I have the
same problem before, and it was due to the high potential resistance
between elements. The mechanic said that it is very common problem for
Waja. As for a start, you may consider to clean all your grounding points
and have a new cable cable to connect your negative(-) side of the
battery to the body.

actually i also face the same problem . When the fan start , the
temperature will rise until 120 and when the fan off, then it will down
to normal. Its only happen in night driving when i didnt switch on the
aircond . when i fully check the cooling system, its all ok . Only night
driving and didnt swith on aircond , the temperature will rise . After i
install after market grounding cable , problem solve . I think waja
original grounding is not that good ......

I'm curious...does this happen to all Wajas or certain batches? Mine is
2002 1.6A...i realised this only after 2 yrs of ownership when i was stuck
in a jam on the Federal Highway...

Mine is a 2001 Manual Waja. I jz noticed it like 2 years ago... while i was
stuck in a jam in Sg. Buloh.
I would like to correct my statement. Actually fan kicks in and temperature
rose to almost 120 degrees then drop back down to normal without a/c (jz
observed it yesterday nite, stuck in a jam again )
Will get some grounding kit soon and see if this can rectify the problem.

yes, the grounding kit really solves the problem...at 1st, i didn't believe
it...tried changing the thermostat and flushed the radiator coolants...then
i read somewhere in the forum about this and recommended grounding...i
still didn't believe how grounding would solve the problem, but at Rm150,
it's worth a try before i go on and change more expensive stuffs (the
thermostat already cost me RM75)
i told my mechanic about this grounding kit and he thought i was
silly...and told me it could be the temp switch or the a/c fan or even the
gauge is faulty...my dad obviously sided with the mechanic...
then, i went to install a grounding kit without their knowledge...i told my
problem to the installer and he himself didn't think how grounding would
solve a cooling problem...
after installation, i tried for a few weeks...temperature remains stable at
80 - 82...my dad, the mechanic and even the installer was speechless!
so go on, try it...now my HID is brighter, engine idles and starts smoother
and even my auto gearchange is slicker!
however, be warned...please have your grounding kit installed by someone
who knows what he's doing...improper grounding can cause opposite effects
mentioned above, and in worst case scenario, causes spark and fire!
