depend on how will you use the car.
me too last time also don't know which to choose between waja n putra.
lastly take putra. no regret at all. very2 fun to drive. FC a lot better
than waja.

p/s: putra n GTi can consider like adik-beradik la...

kayrool,

Just make sure u get the MMC version instead of the siemens version.
Siemens will make you headache all the time especially on the TB. Further
more MMC version is more powerful and dun have much restriction on
modification. Trust me. Coz i driving the siemens version. :( Is my bad
never do my research before buying the car...

u can diff by open the glove box, and see the ECU situated on LH side of
the box. Screwed on the Front Pillar. But for the 2001 version, i think
the ECU is the Siemens one. If MMC, u will get the MMC2468. The most
powerful ECU for this 4G93P as i know is the MMC5537 which equiped on Wira
1.8 DOHC LE and 1st batch putra. some say the very 1st buyers of GTi also
got this MMC5537. not sure true or not. but MMC2468 is good enough too.

Agree ,

must buy Mitsu ECU and not the bloody crap Siemen ECU......most powerful
GTI will be manufactured in the year 1999.......

BTW , Waja is just a bored family car , especially in term of power
output , even an antique old wira 1.6 , can smoke the bloody car kaw
kaw.....

Yeahh since u are still young and reckless its a good choice to buy the
GTI, good power nice looking can make up very easy good first car if u
have the money .. but dun try to race with 1999 GTI model kena tapau jauh
nanti bro ..

My friend still using 1996 1.8 le wira still powerful even its a 12 years
old wira .. for me anything from 1996-2000 meaning still mmc engine is a
good buy just a few technical problem like power window etc ..
