hello guys,
To those who have transplanted Evo 1/2/3 engine into their Wira, do you
need to modify the mountings on the Wira or is it everything fitting and
can go in just like that without modifying anything ?
Whats the different between Evo 1/2/3 besides the horsepower and torque ?
If you lock the 4wd gearbox to 2wd, is there any problem with it ? I
heard that when you boost, can hear some noise from the gearbox ?
Thank you.

> yeah, you got to modify the mounting of cos... unless you opt for GSR
which less work...

> no problem if youe mech good!
for more info, ask our fren IAN 6266 cos he just convert his wira into
EVO III... goodluck!

me transplanting vr4 220 into my car , but then the engine milage is quite
on the high side , so i hope the previous owner had overhaul the engine
before they chop the car up .. but then what the hell , my workshop say
don't need to worry cause i`ll get 1 month warranty from them , so if
anything rosak they will get a replacement or fix it back ..
but the sad thing is im running on standard springs , no power steering ,
no rear disc brakes .. haha just to let you know im on a budget , my
target is to get the engine running and so i can smoke some GTis for
breakfast , lunch , dinner & sapper .. ahahaha

IAN6266 : I read from some other forums, the members say that Evo I-III
engines will fit nicely into Wira's without any modifications ? I'm abit
confused here... Please enlighten me... Thanks !
Between VR4, GSR and Evo I-III engines, which of it will require less
modification to the engine mountings and other stuff ?

kiokyau,
I put a GSR engine into my satria....no problems with mountings. I believe
the wiras should be the same. No experience with the evo engines though.
wrt 4WD gearbox being locked....I heard that you will lose some power as it
divides it between the front and rear wheels and since you arn't using the
rear wheels...*ahem*. What I do know for a fact is that I tested out a GSR
engine with the original 4WD gearbox locked to 2WD and I found that perhaps
the gear ratios are no longer suitable. 1st gear will take you very high up
the rev meter with not much torque.

stormx,
hey mate, long time didn't hear from you! rupa-rupanya go change engine
huh? hehehe... wow, VR4 220bhp somemore... aiyoh, if you play with GTI,
sure you malu lar... maybe you should try with GTI brother lar, the 4G93T
GSR! :) so, tell me how much you totally spend later,ok?
oh, the blitz boost controller and rebic2 injector controller both i
bought for rm1000... quite pricey for the old model...
ian6226,
hey brother, i think your engine got some problem lar, no wonder cheap...
anyway, i hope after changing the gasket, it will be alright! oh, do you
buy the b.o.v and the air filter yet?

kiokyau,
no such engine will fit nicely into different chasis and without any
modification at all one...
as for the engine that you stated, if you want to fit it into proton
wira, satria or putra, the GSR is the least modification for you...
as for the VR4 or EVO I-III, you need some mounting modification but that
can be done it nicely if you got a good mech around...
for locked 4WD into 2WD, yeah, you will got a bad time against the low
rpm but after that, everything will be normal... the 4WD only good in
pick up but for long distance, sure kena tapau by the 2WD!
