czero,

ITR=P-4? Charlie SP=Celeron? Quite funny ler like tht. To think a modded car is an old generation car bodyshell, YES, but to think old technology sitting in modded car, I doubt so.

You ever seen those J`s Racing EK9? They override the Vtec cam lobe u know? What tech you want?

Regards.

Yes, a lot of people are unaware that in racing applications, Honda uses conventional camshafts and disables VTEC.

Techie

If you really want to know, we`ll have to take this offline.

10K is more than enough. But you might still be right though cos I totally disregarded the labour charge. The engine I was thinking of was built by the tuner to prove a point. Labour was free and the cust paid for the hardware.

There`s no point saying that each and every Honda car is good cos Honda`s in F1, while each and every Mitsu is inferior to a Honda because they aren`t in F1.

Every car mfr has it`s strengths and weaknesses. Honda`s in F1 but Mitsu`s in WRC. Nissan`s in neither but its cars (eg. Skyline, Silvia etc) are very highly regarded indeed.

If you want to draw analogies or base your opinions on related matters, make sure they are relevant. F1 engines have no resemblance whatsoever to the road going Honda engines. So, if you`re driving a Civic or City, don`t feel so great cos Honda`s in F1. What they do in F1 has nothing to do with the car you`re driving. I drive a Putra, but hell, the fact that Proton owns Lotus or the fact that it is directly derived from a rally winning Evo3 - doesn`t make my car go one lousy bit faster.

if all possiblity to compare is totally against certain rules of comparing, i guess no point comparing, as all Mitsu engine NA with mivec or without compare to any honda type r, i guess the answer is obvious enough, yes no doubt the MatSpeed SP is nevertheless powerful in it`s low end torque, but so far, that is 1 proven modded NA car i read so far that can match the ITR, obviously u can`t take a turbofied car and compare, but the topic is a fully modded NA vs type R, llsaw have a point where matspeed SP is a track car and not a stock roadie, so jump back to any fully modded proton that can take on a stock type r on street and not on the track, well i havent seen 1 yet so far, but there`s 1 guy in kepong with a white wira with a 1.8 4g93p running on 14" can go side by side with a b16a ( heard it go 400m drag side by side with a vr4 as well, and to confirm that i`ll just say i have my doubt), that is as close as i ever heard such proton car taking on any vtec, ofcourse the wira aint stock la, but is still a daily ridden car to work, families and etc etc

haha.. simple.. do a cost per HP analysis.

and the proton will win everytime.. even after you`ve added RM25 K into the equation.. you`ll still win without taking into consideration the Extra horses you`ve gained after RM25 K of mods.

but the ITR may sill be quicker, as the owners wallet is definitely much lighter :)

Given the topic is about a N/A proton car vs a Type R, keong is comparing 2 totally different class car. So whatever the company is good in, eg. F-1 or rally, all their strength and weakness is accounted. So it`s alright for me to say that Honda is richer for they are ! in real life. Their cars do run in alot of tarmac rallies, and won in it. They dump more money into reasearch than mitsu does, and furthurmore their engine block is stronger than our normal proton block.
Technically speaking, it`s impossible for any of our N/A proton cars to beat a Type-R due to Honda`s superiority in technology and funds. Even if both have gone throught `on par` mods. But in real life, strange things do happen. Remember, more than 1000 years ago, men thought that the earth was flat.

Sure Honda has run a lot of tarmac rallies but Mitsubishi has 4 consecutive WRC titles and countless more WRC Group N titles. Mitsubishi has also won the last 2 Paris Dakar Rallies with Jutta Kleinschmidt and Hiro Matsuoka. Of course the earth is flat as much as saying the Honda open deck block is stronger than the 4G93`s closed deck configuration. Oh well..
