Based on my personal statistics, 9 out of 10 such complaints are caused by clogged air filter. Get it replaced or cleaned.

At the present RM1.35 a litre of RON97, RM50 only gets you about 37 litres. With an average fuel consumption of 9.7km/L for the GTi, RM50 worth of fuel would then give you about almost 360km of travel.

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback.
My GTI is a factory standard one, without any modifications done on it.
Just want to make sure that my average gas consumption is equal to others normal GTI out there.
I done the retuning stuff already but still da same..
Will changing the exhaust systems can improving the consumption?
Nowadays gas are getting more expensive..
sigh..

hello,
Just to relate me experience.. I have been running an aftermarket ECU namely the J5 for about 2 years now and getting about 11 to 13 km/L. Retuning the engine to run more efficiently translate to a bit more power and fuel economy (up to certain degree)
at the end of the day, it's ur right foot that dictates

When my car was stock it was normal for me to get only about 300km on a tankful of combined city and highway driving
