Hi iwklee,
So how much you have to pay Europel for their try and
error (without success) work? Calibra seems to be very
rare here in Malaysia. How is the ride other than
those teething problem? Hope you would manage to solve
your Calibra's engine problem very soon.

Was there any indicator lighted up when your car
stalled? Something similar happened to me suddenly the
car stopped. After a few minutes it worked again only
to stop the next day. But it corrected itself. I read
in the owners’ manual that it was the emission
management system that needs to be serviced. Try
checking that.

Well they charged me RM30!!!!??? Crazy. But the
problem occurs more frequently now. Have already
changed the fuel pump relay but still no avail. Have
also ordered a crank shaft sensor from UK. Hopefully
this is the cause of the problem as I also have
intermittent rpm problem (like sometimes not moving at
all). Well will keep u guys updated.

I love my Calibra (except for these problems). It
handles ok for a coupe of its size. It won't out
handle a 200sx but with the more boot and rear
passanger spare it is really very convenient. It is
150hp and I do have ideas to increase its performance
but it will all have to wait till i sort this problem
out - I plan to also change the complete suspension
bushes - that will be later as it costs quite a lot
too.

Yep, those suspension bushing does cost quite a bit.
My friend just got it changed on his Vectra and it is
not cheap. By the way would any of the Opel owner know
of any tyre shop around KL that can perform front and
rear wheel allignment cause we have check a few but to
no avail so far. Thanks

Hi,

My chassis is basically the same as the Vectra A. The
front can be aligned but not the rear. I am unsure as
to the set up of the Vectra B. As for my car almost
all tyre shops with an electronic wheel alignement
machine should be able to retrieve the data for the
alignment job.

and that is a very difference breed indeed. How do you
rate the car? Recently during my trip to the Europel
workshop they told me that Zafira is selling in
numbers, I can see that they were preparing about 10
for delivery that morning but Astra and Omega hardly
moves.

Had that problem with my Frontera years ago...sent into Europel MANY times (more than 10 times).....I found the problem one day....how??

The engine was running and I shoke EVERY wiring harness connectors that I could see.....the engine stalled when I shoke a main connector (about 20 wires running into this connector) near the engine.

Try tat and see you can find the fault.

Good luck....

Sorry to say this but Europel......makes plenty of money on parts and unethical company.

regarding servicing, is there a special equipment needed? or I can take to
any road side mechanic?

Hi all,

First time here. Came across this website/forum thru my search for Opel in
this region.

I am from across the Causeway. From my drive up in Malaysia, I guess Opel
is a rarity. Never saw any in the peninsula except only one Opel (a
Zafira) just outside of Butterworth area.

Anyway, we also have a community / forum on the Net for Opel owners on the
island. U might want to drop by coz some these guys have good technical
knowledge of Opel (die hard I guess).

We might share some "lobang" maybe. Similarly, our number is small so we
need to stick together.

As for me, I drive a Zafira (6 months old). My first Opel. When I first
bought it (select it after test drive a Stream, Peugeot 307), so many
sceptical comment from frens. But support from fellow Opelist, I feel I am
driving the right car.

If interested, can email me at wagga@starhub.net.sg so that I point to u
the link for the group across the causeway.
