Hi guys! Im a super big hardcore Silvia S15 fan and am thinking about
buying 1 next year. Here is my big big question because i need help from
you guys out there.

How much is the cheapest S15 u`ve seen? I`ve seen like 130-160k on the
papers and magazines. I would like to find 1 at the range of 120k and
below. Would i be able to find 1? Oh ya...it must be a manual Spec R and
any year also can.

Now here is another question...im 22 and will turn 23 later this year. I
graduated last year july from aussie and am working now. Would i be able to
take a loan if my salary range is 2500 (just put a range at 1500k 1st la)?
Even if i pay rm20k for the down payment. Can i take a loan 7 or 9 years?
If my loan is approved, i be paying rm1200(estimation) every month and the
remaining from my rm2300++(after cut the epf and etc) i think i will be
abit tight with my money every month. FYI, i dont have to worry about house
rent coz live my parent and they still pays the bills. I dont have a GF yet
so i guess that would save me alot of money :P

Now realistically la...will i be able to take care a 120k car every month?
I dont mind paying the high interest for 7-9 years coz that is the car i
love and will do anything to get it. Just want you experts out there or any
1 of you have been through this kind of case do tell me. I dont want to end
up not being able to feed my silvia every month and the bank tarik balik
the car the time i really die!!!! Should i wait for another 1 or 2 years? I
dont think i can wait already coz im aging and i want to drive my Silvia
S15 while im still young!!

Advices would be great. Thanks!

For your infomation.

Bank only approve loan if your monthly istallment not more than you 1/3
of your sallery. In your case, if salary is Rm2500, the your installment
cannot more thanRm 8xx. And remember, as you own car, you'll not only
need to paid installment but the petrol, service maintanence like enigine
oil which not so big amount. But becare full about tyre (should cost u
more than Rm1000 per set if you drice S15.) Yearly insurance, if you got
no NCB, you may take out another Rm2k to RM3k. Ofcause you still also
need to spare some money in your pocket.

Bank only approve 1/3 out of someones salary? Now this is hard for me to
accept but that is the fact guess. Any other solutions? How about loan from
the car dealer? I know some car dealer do arrange loan for me but not too
sure if must go through the bank or not.

Gosh...this is heart breaking for me. I've always dream about owning my own
Silvia S15 until now. I guess i have to wait a little longer. But anyway i
really dont mine paying rm1.2k because the remaining i can plan properly
survive till the whole month. If some how someone would approve i would
gladly accept it. That is IF la....

Dude, its a wise choice to wait.

First of all, why want such a big car when you've just started your career?
Don't you need savings for gf, bills and also car repair? hehe...

Car repairs for a Silvia can be very costly. I'm talking about repair, NOT
normal services. Then since your parents are paying up all your bills, i
think its only fair for you to take up some of those bills. And finally, a
sports car can be very thirsty too.

Trust me, you've made the right choice to wait.

Btw, at 22, you're not aging. You're only at the beginning of your career.

Well, there is a reason why i want to buy those kind of cars in a hurry. U
see...those kind of cars i dont think should be driven by mid 30s people
(those people who are in their 30s..please dont get offended :P )
because it`s a sport car! it`s meant to be driven by young adults! I was
in Aussie for 1.5 years and those aussies kids drives Skylines, Silvias,
180sx to uni! Dont tell me you want to drive a 2 door car when
ur married or worst still...got KIDS! Well i cant compare because the way
the price here is very different from malaysia.

So if i can afford as young as possible, i will buy it. Well, im abit short
now so i guess i will be waiting for alittle longer...HAIZ! Thanks for
those advices!

P/S: "Don`t you need savings for gf?" well...im in a hurry to find a gf so
my priority is CAR! Career 1st then 2nd come CAR! hehe...

sportscars can be thirsty.

agree on that score (if its older & big CC)

newer sport cars are pretty frugal. (well at least from japanese sports cars)

Seriously, college kids who drives big cars to college/uni because their
parents bought them those cars! they don't pay for it. You can do that if
your parents are really loaded.

Please check with those who owns a S15 for any known maintenance problems
and how much do they spent averagely too. Do you know that sports cars
repairs can come up to thousands? So, you'll need cash in hand to pay for
those repairs. Don't even think of using your credit cards, cos soon you'll
run out of credit cards to swipe.

Some silvia parts cannot be found locally and you have to go to ebay to buy
it or to wait for stocks from Singapore.

At 22, you earn RM 2500. Buying a S15 in 2-3 years time wont hurt you
though and your salary may well be around 4k if you're good at what you do.
then it'll become more affordable for you.

Don't put yourself in a difficult situation where you're tied down to a
car. You see nice branded clothes and posh restaurants, but you can't even
afford because u've got a car to take care off.

On top of that, save some for rainy days.

just a word of advice...if you do not have such a big head (yet), don't
wear a hat that is too big for your head. In another word, don't "Jalan
Sombong, Pocket Kosong"

Wait til you earn the kind of money whereby you will be able to buy any car
you like without thinking too much. you may be able to buy the car and pay
the monthly installment. BUT can you maintain the car??

one more thing, u may not be able to see the importance of saving up for
the rainy days yet...i understand. however, speaking from experience,
learn to save up first.

and oh yeah, don't be a slave to a car.

well, got what you guys are trying to say. I'll guess i have to drive my
old car till i can afford 1 in the future. Gotta save some for the rainy
days. I target myself 2-3 years time before geting a S15. Thanks again for
those advices...appriciate that.
