Dear forumers, I just want to ask if its normal for a Sonata YF not to replace the Automatic Transmission filter during transmission oil change (60k KM)? The SC said this is normal as to get to the filter, they will have to un-mount the transmission. Anyone has similar experience of not having the filter replaced during ATF change? My car is touching 100k KM and this will be my second ATF change. During the first ATF change at ~60k KM, the SC said the filter will only be changed during 100k KM or more. Now they tell a different story. Appreciate your comments and feedbacks.

What about your car manual? Does it state the filter change interval?

As for other cars, I have seen at my mechanic, some change only oil at 20k km and at 40k km, then at 60k km they change oil and filter. Some car makes have longer interval, therefore is best you check with your car manual and if not stated you have to rely on your SC....

Hi,

I am sure your yf comes with the six speed auto. This GB was made in house by kia (mimicking the BMWs lifetime gear fluid campaign) is a lifetime no fluid change gb but under harsh condition they recommend to change at 100k km. Thus, I don think u need a fluid change at 60k km. U just have to change fluid at 100k km. About the filter, you may need to check with service centre, as u need to strip off the lower pan to get access to the filter. That probably needs to be done as well.

Does anyone have a 429 bell housing for a 4 speed toploader. I have a good transmission and all the parts with the exception of the brake pedal and the clutch pedal for a manual.
