Hi, my satria develop a weird syndrome and I don't feel comfortable to drive it . Need helps and advice.
During a cool start, engine seems like dying off (like run out of breath), when you step on the accelerator, engine die off immediately. Engine symbol light up. Checked, mentioned oxygen sensor and MAP sensor fault, changed. Change new spark plugs and spark cables too.
Happened recently when I am driving, engine suddenly wanted to die off, same symptoms as above, depress the clutch and let the car slide to road side, step on accelerator, engine died. Disconnected the battery terminals (as means to reset the ecu), connect back and it's become normal.

What could be the issue here?

Please help. Many mechanics are clueless. Can't keep try and error by changing parts.

So far no engine check light up. Even before I replaced the o2 & Map sensor, engine check light do not appear frequently.

Some mechanic mentioned that there is a power unit near the spark plugs areas that need replacement. Could it be this reason?

But you mention disconnect battery terminals and back to normal. Maybe some ECU issues

Ok, thanks. Wonder if proton service center have the expertise to check. It's hard to prove to them unless I put the car over night.
