Hi all, I'm driving a Nissan Sentra GXE year 2001, auto gear.
I just changed my gearbox last year Oct.
But recently the gear was taking too long to shift from gear 3 to 4.
It always reach 2500rpm (speed at 70) then only change to gear 4.
What should I check for this issue, the gearbox or sensor??
Appreciate your comments.
Thanks,
May

You mentioned gear box changed. Is it a new gear box, recon, or from chop shop?

In that case not sure if a good job was done to recon it. If you have regular mechanic, probably you can try changing the atf if you have not done so. Of probably give the gear box an atf flush instead, means change all the atf. You can also try adding in Lubegard Platinum atf additive as another resort. If all fails then probably need to open up and check.....

Hmmm I sent to workshop and the mechanic changed sensor for me.
After changed it's a bit better, but to shift from gear 3 to 4, it still need reach 2500rpm.

Since repairs were done, go back to them for check up....

Hi,
I already replaced the gearbox (claim from workshop).
Now it need rpm2.5 at speed 60 then only shift to gear 4.
I still feel it's not good. Previously it will shift around rpm2.
Any clues what can I check next? And sometimes when I released the oil pedal, it has a "kok" sound.
Appreciate your comments.
Thanks,
May

Somethings are difficult to give correct diagnose without checking it physically. Your mechanic should be able to inform you better. Since already claim and still have issues ask them to check further your problems.

Alright. Thanks for your advice.
Maybe I'll get another mechanic to check on it.
Have a nice day =)
