VW owners, could you please share your experiences here? Please do not selfish or feel shame to share here. I am thinking upgrade to VW Golf after suffering for Peugeot. But gear box issue is really a major one and it involve my family safety!

If you don't want the problematic DSG 7 , go get the GTI. Not the TSI.

To be more precise, get the DSG 6 or Tiptronic but that will leave you with limited choice.

Mine is not in the initial batch of recall. Last month still get call up, although mine still has no problem yet (touch wood). They say replace mecha unit only. But did not mention replace oil. So far so good.

my VW was called for mechatronic unit changed (june 2013), at the same time DSG changed if not mistaken.

I doubt they change the DSG oil to mineral base since it's prior to the announcement.

mine is scheduling for a clutch change on next month, still didnt receive any recall for mineral oil change.

Gear 1 and gear 2 are having judder issue during pick up especially on slope, no breakdown or anything so far (touch wood). After the clutch change it will be all fine.
