Actually in my mind, I'm comparing it mostly with NCT5 and XM2.

For hydroplaning minimization feature, as written in my post, I've automatically compare with Evo and PS3 coz these 2 tyres seems to excel in this feature. I believe the Toyo larger drain thread place hydroplaning minimization capability is a step above XM2 and many step above NCT5.

Actually NCT5 is Mid range tyres, but due to it being an older model using harder compound and soften by using many many sipes which are also shallow, it loses out to other newer even entry level tyres..... :o

I quite like these tyres for combination of durability (in my case), slow wearing, no reduction of performance after wear and its cheaper price vs other tyres on the same range, good wet grips (for eco) and average dry grips. Some other might have other complains but this is my experience with it.

I am similarly impressed...

An update from me - I am very impressed with the overall performance of this tyre. While it is a baseline model and relatively cheap, it performs everything asked of it. I would rate it higher than the XM2. Best of all, fuel consumption really was head and shoulders better than the XM2. So, I would use it again as my car has limited choice due to its 14 inch rims.

Flee

Toyo bought over silverstone. At first I thought they will take over the factory but they actually built a bigger one at the new industrial area in Taiping

I think Toyo is building for the export markets.

NE3 is a food all round tyre. Does nothing outstandingly great but it does not do badly either. A good general purpose tyre for city driving with the added bonus of lower fuel consumption.

Such a big factory surely most are for export. Malaysia cannot consume so many tyres......lol

My persona is still on Toyo Nano3. Near end of life. Hit 100k or 110k mileage. The only tires that manage to hit this mark (for me) in real life performance....and there is still 20 to 30% tread left. What surprise me is performance are mostly degraded due to tires hardening but the tread performance is only mildly degraded. At 30%, all the tread are still there, even the tire corner tread. Almost all tread are cut right to the bottom unlike other tires eco or performance. For michelin tires, chances are all tire side tread are crush to pieces at 60k mileage...

Toyo eco tires are one of the few eco tires that does not use sipes (I hate them coz they are usually very shallow....good performance while there are there but once hit 60% mark, there are almost gone and tires performance degraded to 50% performance grip.)

Although dry performance are only so so, the wet, noise, etc are satisfactory for eco tires and the life durability is truly proven here. I'm likely to change to another set of nano3  again for this car. It is cheap, durable, performance degradation resistance and acceptably silent (not so anymore but way better than other tires at this stage). What more could you ask for in a budget eco tires. Dry performance grip on cement is the only weakness it has, but for everyday highway and normal daily drive, this is the most value for money tires I have used. It is not that popular but that is my 2 cents due to real life usage.

Very rare for any tyres to hit this mark in real life usage. That is also after considering that all 4 tyres still have around 3.2 to 4.2mm tread depth left.
