Hey all, I'm new to this forum, but basically I have a 2012 Proton Persona elegance for 15 months now, and I bought a fascia plate a while back so that I can change the stereo.
I remember reading an article which said that Proton makes it hard for car owners to swap the stereo out... so I've sort of avoided it for a while now... but just wondering, is this true? I hate the generic stereo, I can't plug my iPhone into it and it sucks having to listen off USB. Although I frequently get people tell me how good the music sounds...
I'm also wondering, will the steering wheel controls work with any type of car stereo, or are they only made for the included Blaupunkt stereo?
Cheers

I fitted an after-market CD/DVD unit with GPS/MP3/Bluetooth/camera e.t.c. with no great issues. The steering wheel controls work fine with it.
The standard Proton HU is quite easy to remove, (5 mins.) and leaves you with a standard double-DIN space to work with.
