Sifus, need ur advice badly to remove this tree saps from the hood of my car.
I have given some passes with rotary n purple wool pad + Ultimate Compound. It only make the thing smooth but still wouldnt remove it completely. Im afraid if i do too much cutting than my clearcoat are gone.
Before this i can feel the contaminants but after doing some passes now its smooth but still visible. smile_angry.gif
Car is white.

1. Most cars in malaysia are solid white. Only metallic or pearl white are clear coated.

2. To check if its solid paint, you need to polish with a foam pad if the pad turn white then its solid white as there is paint transfer. On clear coated cars there will not be paint transfer to the pad.

3. There is less you can do with solid paint as its much more porous then CC thus it would have "seeped" into the paint already. So I suggest level it as much as you can thus at the same time as little as you can.

4. If its clear coated I should be easy to polish off. I got a funny feeling your paint is solid white.

Yes its a solid white.
Which means as u says there is no cc thus nothing much i can do about it.

Whats the reason solid white were not clear coated?

because the paints are made differently. never tried to ask whether you can clear a solid white or not. most probably the clear wont stick on the solid white. That is why when repainting car always ask for 2k white with hard clear. Very much easier to take care. Solid paint also is cheap as the technology is very old.

To make you feel better my solid white also got a stain which has permanently set into the paint which cannot be removed.

Yup, 2k especially metallic paint color, the clear coat to protect the metallic particles which differs from solid type paint.

Recently i bought those paint touch-up from Ezy Touch Up for this car. It came together with a bottle of clear coat. I havent use it yet though but i believe the clear should be able to stick on the white.
