There is no ATF (required for torque transmission) in a dry Powershift. Whatever oil/fluid inside is just for lubrication and cooling. Same goes for the wet Powershift in the S-max or Focus TDCi, both these cars having a much higher engine torque.

Do not believe what people told you about jerk and grinding sound as normal. I had the same experience as yours before the replacement. Now they are totally gone if not it is unnoticeable. But fuel consumption went up from average 8.1 l/100km to 9.1l/100km, good thing is the car has more power now. Fuel consumption is more important to me, will monitor if it does not go down, will ask service center to reprogram for fuel efficiency.

Do you mean completely no more grinding and jerking sound at all after the transmission in your vehicle is replaced with a new one? Man I need to go complain. My impression is all this grinding and jerking are inherent in the vehicle.

Jerking I still can live with as it is minor. But grinding sound seems to be getting worse now. Mileage still low at about 4500km.

Yes, ALL GONE.

During test drove the mechanic told me turn left or right sound is "normal", worst, while grinding the transmission refused to give me power, it was draggy, but after replaced with a new transmission, there is no sound AT ALL too! Go figure! Touch wood that it will not re-develop any sound after that. At least I'm enjoying the ride more now.

Was driving with the jerking and grinding for a year thinking it was "normal" until I couldn't take it anymore. The rest is history.

Trying to make a decision on powershift transmission. A year now since you had yours fixed, is it still working well? appreciate your feedback!

No jerk, just minimal grinding at low speed. After that, I just have to tune my mind as if I'm driving a manual assisted transmission car. It post a characteristic of a manual transmission on low speed between 1st gear and 2nd. The grind happens if I'm light footed going up a slope. At the same time push the car harder give me no grind. After that it is fun to drive, with now RON97 price is marginal more than ROM95, using RON97 seems to reduce to almost none. One plus point is the fuel economic is quite good, I'm going at 7.6L/100KM city drive on RON95.

So it's a matter of getting used to. That's good to know, which means it is not a defect. Tqvm.

guys,i was reading your feedback on the jerking issues at low speed and it sounds interesting to know about the petrol brand will impact the jerking issues.
I just bought a ford focus 2013,but i have the same issues as well, driving in the high speed is superb good but when we are stuck in the traffic that's where i can feel the pain...
is it would be because of the Petrol, transmission problem or mounting ?

Please do share your thoughts ...
