DS4 is priced at RM165K and DS5 ar RM195k wihtout insurance.

Peformance wise, DS4 0-100km/h @ 9.3sec and DS5 @ 9.7sec. Information from website. Paultan gives the wrong information for DS4 acceralation, to be 8.6sec.

1) Bad service from Naza
2) Poor performance ( I personnaly can not accept car at this price give me this kind of acceleration. Any modified cheap car can overtake me easily)
3) Not competitive price

Most probably end up put the car in showroom only.

I do somewhat agree on the engine performance part but on the servicing, it might be different. The problem with Peugeot is that they priced it too competitively and they sold more than they could handle. Furthermore, the target client of Peugeot consists many middle income (and some low income owners who stretched their repayment schedule) who may depend on only 1 car in their entire household. Having that sole vehicle breaking down is sure to be a lot more inconvenient.

By bringing an upmarket, expensive line, the exclusivity of the marque is assured, the number of cars coming in for service is less and with the experience they now with from Peugeot (considering the engines are the same as 308T and 408T), part sharing and solving problems should be a lot faster.

The issue is more on branding, I feel. Here's a brief piece of what I wrote about the launch:

If all you want is a high performance car, get a Nissan GTR or Subaru WRX.

i think the price is alright for DS5....considering this car competes with the likes of Merc C180...BMW 320i...VW CC...the price is already very low...plus the Merc, BMW and VW are all low specced cars as compared to the DS4 which is packed to the brim with options...I think if brooklands were still handling citroen....they would've charged above 200k for a car this well specced...with NAZA's connections with the gov...they must've worked something out just like what they did with all those peugeots...citroen is not for someone who places performance as the priority...so if u looking for performance look for something else...

What I mean performance is not those really performance cars. VW able to have sedan that accelerate 0-100kph in about 8 seconds, why not Citroen?

I need a comfortable car where I can race with others sometimes.

DS series look sporty. When you design a car like this, you have to support it with the performance. What do you think if a guy with muscles can not even lift up a weight that normal guy can?

Competitive price? I do agree on Peugeot but definitely not for DS4 and DS5. With the RM165k for DS4, the first car every one will think of is VW Golf TSI. if I have budget of RM195k, why not spend a little more for C class, 3 series, A4, etc?

RM195K for a full spec car is very attractive for C class, 3 series and A4 but definitely is too high for DS5 under Naza’s world class service center.

It is easy for us to say a car is worth to buy based on price and spec given. But when you are in a position to buy a car, ask yourself honestly for my question here.
Will you spend RM30k more for VW CC or just buy directly VW Passat?
Will you just buy Accord or Camry or Teanna over DS5?

For me, I will definitely not go for DS% for RM195K.

lol....actually DS4 was aimed at competing with scirocco more than golf...golf equipment levels are not as high...fabric seats etc....plus the DS line of cars are aimed at the premium sector...BMW, Merc n Audi...sure...if u can afford a C class, 3 series and A4...go for it...but then they will mostly be kosong cars...especially Merc n BMW....meaning equipment levels are at a minimum....DS5 is really for people who want to look different...special....not the mainstream Merc and BMW driver...if you like driving...just go for 3-er...

from what I've heard BMW, Merc SCs are no worse....I drive a fiesta only...people keep complaining SC is bad but I find that it's alright...sometimes it's just luck....yes I am in no position to buy a car...just a student...but...DS5 is aimed at premium segment...508 is aimed at the conventional D-segment sedans (camry, accord n teana)...also the difference in price of the VW CC and Passat is because Passat is CKD while CC is imported from germany...also...the design...again...VW CC is to the passat like what the DS5 is to the C5...VW CC and DS5 are aimed at premium C-segment sedans like 3-er and C-class...so I think the price is fair...even scirocco 1.4 tsi already selling at 188k+...I think that is an even lousier price
