3) Petrol Level
4) Spare Tyre Coding
We have been in business for the past 9 years and we are still looking for ways to improve the quality of service at our center. In fact , we may have missed out something that we may have over look. There were an case where a customer accused us of misplacing his tyre when sending his spare tyre when he sent his spare wheel for repair. We will not usually question condition of the spare tyre when we in direct contact with it other than inflating it to the optimum level. When remounting the tyre back to the wheel, we notice the tyre has crack on it's sidewall and inform the customer when he arrive to collect the wheel. The customer was not aware of the condition of his tyre until we inform him about it. His car is register in 2011 and his assumption that his spare tyre should be new and manufacturer in 2011 is correct. However, this was not the case. Tyre mounted on the spare wheel is manufactured in 2008 and being re grooved. He accused us for misplaced his original tyre, and that was not his tyre. Based on eye witness and cctv, it was the tyre from the spare wheel. However, the customer may also be a victim cause his spare wheel may have been swap by unsuspected party. As a gesture of goodwill we agree to compensate the owner with a piece of new tyre.
This serve as a lesson we learn from the incident and procedures will be inplace to record down the tyre manufacturing code of the spare tyre, and 4 tyres on the car.

This also served as a lesson for all car owners to check the spare tyre before and after sending our cars to service centres.
My sis in law suffer the same pain when she sent her car for service, and her brand new spare was replaced with a worn tyres. By the time she realised it was few months later with no evidence to proof that her new spare tyre was stolen.

I have a friend who send to SC for normal service, also never check, got the spare rim and tyre, including the jack and tools missing....
This is good move for quicksave to introduce this service, then good for both parties....

i personally stand next to my car whenever I am at workshops or tyre shops....
i never had such experience
it's just sad to c some shop owners r not honest even though we pay them for the service

That is why again, I strongly feel you should get to know the shop owner well. The few tyre shops that I go to, and also my usual mechanic I dare to leave my car there unattended. Done that for many years. I find many members seems to change from this shop, then another shop and so on, so when things happens no sure from where....

So the moral of the story is beware! Document everything. And make sure you take photos of your car before anything major is done to your car.

Its good to know you have good experience there. At first, I believed it was probably an isolated case with my experience till I spoke to other owners. The alignment works has been so-so lately and another chap had similar incidence where his wheels were nicked.
I rest my case...

I was acting like you but still it happened at QuickSave USJ that they scratched my rims. I was wondering whyin the world would one remove the old tyres from the front instead of inserting the replacement tyre from the inner rim. If they have done so it would not have scratched my rims. Disappointedly after they alleged to have resprayed the scratched (though unwillingly) but after a few days when at an angle i noticed that the scratched marks was still there though lighter. They just touch up with a layer of gloss over it. Poor workmanship!
