Hi All,

Thanks for all ur reply. It make me feels much better knowing that Citroen car have better quality than most other car brands. Agree with you guys on Brooklands after sales service but to be fair, when i googled other service center like ford and pug, seems like there are the same or much worse.. smile_angry.gif

I dont agree when people say citroen car price in malaysia is high. I think its under price compare to other brand because if u look at the interior/exterior design, finishing, safety and functionality, brooklands is selling it reasonably. In fact, the sales person even said that due they dont do any advertising or promotion on citroen in malaysia, they manage to make the price low. I bet when naza starts selling citroen, they will definitely take the price higher or reduce the specs.

For Pugs, it is dependent on which SC you went to. Some are seriously rubbish, short-staffed and those staff that are there lacks knowledge. Every little thing also want to replace, instead of taking the time off to diagnose properly and repair the affected parts.

As for the price, yeah for the specs, it is pretty "cheap" compared to Jap/Korean cars. Even when you buy a Pug 308, it's safety and specs are way ahead of a Civic or even a Camry. Go test drive in a 508, then go testdrive a Camry...it's a different world. Due to the local perception, people keep buying due to their largely "blind trust" in jap brands and thus the jap manufacturers keep selling to them poorly equipped cars to keep their margins healthy.

Sorry bro, I don't agree with what they said about saving money by not doing any promotions. If Brooklands aren't advertising or doing anything to promote the brand, who is going to trust Brooklands? They always gives me the impression that they are on the verge of bankruptcy... But their new showroom next to Fed Highway looks good smile_approve.gif

Saw a DS4 around my area, it looks much better in the flesh than in pictures. smile_approve.gif Respect to the owner for choosing such a unique car smile_cool.gif

I think I should change the title of my thread to "GIVE ME 10 GOOD REASONS TO GO FOR CITROEN" 059.gif

A lot of "original" Citroen fans are apparently going to pug when they worry about after sales. Let me ask you guys, if Citroen is now under Naza which is same as Pug and both receive same after sales, would you still choose pug?

508 is definitely a classy premium car but C5 wins it for me. Even when I was in France about 6 years ago, when I want to rent a car at the airport, Citroen is the most expensive while merc is the cheapest. This is for the small car category by the way. Because people would always choose to drive Citroen due to their coolness.

But comparing Citroen and Renault, that would be a bit tight contest for me. Megane definitely very sexy but too flashy for me. DS4 would be just nice balance.

If its really true that they won't invest in promotions/marketing on the Citroen to lower the car price because they think the name itself can sell the car, at least they should provide best in class service. Spend some f*****g money and send your techs to France for training and retain your best employee. If the price go up several thousand or the technical specs were lowered, i wouldn't think of buying it now. Bring in eHDI and turbodiesel engines.

Now Brooklands is selling Citroen and SSangyong. When Naza takeover, the whole showroom would be SSangyong I think. Really easy to test drive their cars because they have test drive unit for almost all models. Since not many people visit, the salesman always layan you to test drive. No need to queue and can go for long test drive. Why you want to see DS4 on the road? just go to the show room and test drive la

If Citroen has comparable service and support as Peugeot or Ford or Volkswagen, I would definitely choose a DS4 or C4 over a 308/408. The newest Citroens I had tested is the C5, but since it's due for a replacement soon, I would not choose a C5 over the much newer but less cool 508. But if the C5 is priced lower...and if it's the face-lifted version, then I would choose a C5. Has always preferred a Citroen over a Peugeot.

If Naza were to offer 5 years warranty unlimited mileage and, if your car is equipped with the hydro-pneumatic suspension, a 8-year warranty for it, AND the knowledge and experience to repair/service the cars, then I don't see any reason for Citroen not to have a small but steady customer base here..

Ssangyongs ah...no offense to Ssangyongs, but I think they are one of the most often forgotten brands in Malaysia. Again, blame Brooklands for the lack of promotions etc. Their cars are good but always looks weird and overshadowed by other Korean makes.

Hi ajbdar/aziz,

Aziz, I've read your previous post on C4 2005 model and it seems that the repair costs is quite high. Is that normal? I hope the 2010 C4 is more reliable.

Regards

Dear bro tonychoppa

The repair cost were estimated by the staff at the receiving counter of workshop, and not the actual maintenance, all time I send the car my friend workshop at selayang, cost me cheaper. Anyway the cost I put on forum after I did the maintenance I publish in the forum.

If i have lot of money right now, I am going to keep my c4 2005 model until it is rotten and also get the new c4 2011 of course, the driving can be so much difference

Regards

well u've found an owner here...bought my c4 in april....comes with EGS...im not sure if latest model comes with normal autobox?

my comments: EGS is good gearbox, but not perfect. the gear shift is definitely slower than DSG /Powershift/normal auto box. but since it is actually an automated manual gearbox, it should be compared to manual rite? EGS is a treasure that not many can love. it combines the acceleration of manual + fuel economy + easy maintenance to the easy to live auto box. try it out as much as you can and try to love it before u buy it.

other than that, my car is good. service interval is every 15k kms which is cheaper than pugs in total.....had replaced my side signal which had water droplets in it for free, brookland did a good job. waited for 3 weeks though (expected as it is from france). smile_thumbup.gif

Hi bro,

Would be interested to know how well stocked is Brooklands on other wear-and-tear parts such as bushes, suspensions, brake discs, bearings etc... would not want to wait weeks for these commonly replaced parts.

And how knowledgable are the service people? and are their services prompt and proper?

And what's the warranty of your C4? 3 years or 100,000kms WCF?

Thanks bro.

Both 308 and C4 share the same 156 THP engine.

And 308 THP engine in Malaysia seems to have issues so better check the Peugeot forum before deciding.

I am a regular visitor to the Pug forum, and from what i could gather there, it looks like those early 308 THP models has the "superknock" issues. Later models are okay..but of course it still depends on luck.

models like the RCZ, 308 FL and 408 are all okay so far..so my guess is the later C4 and DS4 are also ok
