Thanks for the prompt reply Kristof!

In SAT mode, the gb feels programmed to shift up earlier (at lower rpm).
In the long term, to save gb wear is it recommended to leave setting in SAT mode?

Just want to ask Mr Kristof

Whst should we consider to convert old saga BLM manual tx to CVT Automatic. Do we need these :
1. New CVT box
2. New Driveshaft
3. ECU for Tx
4. New ECU for EMS
5. Meter cluster
6. Gear lever
7. Brake pedal
8. Gbox cooler

What could be the total cost of above to convert to auto.

Just to get some understanding on the cvt2 gb for flx.

1.) The jerking feel when the car start move from static. Is there anyway to prevent the jerking feel? Base on your reply, I roughly understand that this jerking feel is mostly cause by the clutch sudden close when we press the pedal to move the car. It is really uncomfortable to drive if compare with other car that equip with cvt gb.

2.) The engine braking cut in when the car speed is below 40km/h. The engine braking is strongly feel when the speed is below 40km/h (the feeling is similar with you engaged at 2nd gear in a MT gb and release the fuel pedal to let the car slow down by engine brake). It is extremely uncomfortable and hard to control during traffic jam or inside a car park as the speed normally will be lower than 40km/h. The car will be jerking and not smooth. Is It possible to upgrade the TCU program to overcome this issue?

3.) From your reply, I believe the clutch is the main thing that cause the most problem to the gb.if we alway accelerate the car at high rev (more than 4k rpm), will this harm and shorthen the clutch life? The clutch is fully closed when we full pedal accelerate or just slip until we release the pedal back to normal rpm?

This is the problem I faced with my saga flx, as I tried other car equip with cvt, they don't have the feel that I had stated above. Hope that these issue can be solve then will be perfect~

Send me an email please, so i have your contact. I will let you know how we will try to solve this for you. (this is most likely just connecting to laptop and redo what we call clutch adaptation) it shouldn't be uncomfortable at all, that is the whole meaning of our cvt.

I have no reason to beleive sat mode or not would affect lifetime, both modes are tested in the same way

i noticed in SAT mode , the throttle response is abit more sensitive and more responsive than when in normal D mode....thus the feeling of better pickup response..

there should be some new software for the jerking during pickup....

i learned that in order to have a smooth pickup , slot into D , u need roll the car for about a meter only then very gently press the accelerator to move off slowly....i stil believe that it should abit more gentle than this....

This is the way in order to have a smoother pick up. Slot in D, release the brake, wait around 5 seconds, press the pedal very very gently.....but we can't alway do like that, because most of the time we need fast response.....sometime if you press the pedal harder a bit during pick up, will you have the jerking feel same as you sudden release clutch in MT gearbox?

No point having a turbo engine with tis kind of driving style. Better suited the hybrid then... smile_tongue.gif

hi krisfof,

One of the owner complain that when he engage to D and press a little bit fuel(RPM 1200 - 1600), his engine will have some sound like "Drrr...", this sound will appear again when he try to stop his EB (around 30km/h). If the owner engage to "N", there is no sound and working normal.

Any comment on this?

I hear similar thing in my car. especially when cold engine. This is however not CVT, it's engine, and i suspect it to be the VVT (or maybe the Dual mass flywheel). If you open the hood and start the car you can hear it aswell.

I can hear when allpying very little throttle, moving slowly, once you accelerate faster it's gone. I wouldn't worry about it.
