Hi to all. I'm post this just to know a bit on alfa famous gb. Not founding any thread discussing about this.
Is it:
-Practical vs tedious?
-reliable vs problematic?
FYI i'm not an owner of any Alfa model, so i don't have any experience on this. Hope Alfa owner can share theirs. Thanks.

alfa's selespeed was one of the earliest manual gearbox but automated, besides Renault's AMT we can find in the Savvy - that was introduced in the Clio seomtime in 1992.
other that this 2, at the early times of tiptronic gearboxes they are all automatics with override mode. Even Porsche 911 and Honda NSX were using conventional automatic transmission with torque converter back then.
so, Alfa was one of the earliest to use manual gearbox heavy with motors and sensors and as ppl in the industry know - they are not that reliable.
Things improved a lot in the 159 models, but on the 156 - car itself being a decade old - the risks are pretty high.
not unless u r an alfisti though.
or you have a spare car to use because it will spend a lot of time in the workshop.

Risky ehh..So, that's the reason the latest Alfa Mito and Giulietta don't use it anymore and opt for manual and Dual Dry Clutch. Life quite hard for Alfa owner. But the look and driving experience must be rewarding to those who loyal to the brand, i salute them.
