Well, there is always a starting point to start learning.
As long as there is no claim, NCD will stand. If buying new car with higher value, then transfer old car insurance NCD to new car and buy new insurance for old car. If new car in other person name then cannot be done.

For your existing case, are both car insurance from same insurance? If yes, maybe you can call them up for advice.

Thanx Bro....good things must be shared for all.

guys,
i have a rather silly question here. Lets say i cancel the insurance of my old car (to continue the NCD to the new car), who is responsible to get the new policy for the old car? me or the new buyer?

New buyer.

The way I see it, NCD is attached to both the owner and the car. Otherwise I can have Car No 1 with 55% discount and when I buy car no 2 (but not sell car no 1), I can also claim the same NCD.

It makes sense to attach the NCD to the owner AND car as each owner and each car has its own claim history. The reason why owners transfer NCDs when they dispose of their old car is because the NCD is not attached solely to the owner.

Flee

NCD in name of owner, up to owner which car gets it.... smile_tongue.gif
