this is the function, i would say it returns the unhealthy petrol vapour from the patrol tank to be burned by the engine instead of releasing it to the atmosphere. its emission thingy. of course it a ecu related control for the right metering. and if this thing fails no serious problem i think because the design of it is made to compasate the tank pressure as well.

Too thin?! You see, this is the problem that i see MOST Malaysian mechanics have. Poor knowledge. They can come up with all sorts of nonsense.

Guess what, i have been using 10w-30 engine oil for my 1.6 Campro IAFM Persona for near to 10,000KM awaiting for oil change real soon. The oil level is still the same as before. I drive pretty aggressive at once a while too.

So i can say.... its nonsense.

Hi can I ask, the oil you are using is mineral or semi or fully synthethic? You can use for 10,000km? Wow that's quite a distance....

i had this 'tak tak tak' noise fr engine too. at 1st thought is IAFM, so I requested to change to a new unit. after tat, sound still there. make further complaints at next service. then managed to claim a whole new engine head. my prob is sound from lash adjusters/ hydraulic lifters. now sound gone, but after that front right undercarriage got sound. SC check for 3 hours n retightened the whole undercarriage but sound stil there. i suspect is fr steering assembly. need to send in again to check. probably hv to leave car overnite for them to dissemble one thing at a time. haih.
