Hi TDCI Owners,

1) When using your wipers, do you hear a relay switch sound coming from the dashboard?

2) Has anyone done 10K? Did the service centre change your fuel filter?

3) I'm averaging 6.8km/l, which gets me to an average of 650km, with roughly 50+ liters to go. On average, a combination of town and highway driving. Using caltex, canyone getting better mileage?

Thanks

Hi,

1) Yes, sometimes when I switch off the aircond and radio, I can hear the 'wiper relay' switching, when the wipers are set to auto wipe.

2) No comment, only done 2K. Look at the service voucher they gave you (for ESP) and look under the list of service items.

3) Mine is still averaging 7.3km/l, i guess it's true that as the engine runs in, the mileage gets better. I'm pumping Caltex Techon D too.

Cheers.

Dear ramrodx & kingsway,

1. I don't notice any sound when using wiper. TDCi got autowipe? Is your TDCi have latest upgrade likes passengger electric seat?

2. I did changed my fuel filter at 20k km for pre-caution (ESP cover at 60k km). The filter didn't look so bad though. Cost me RM200 including labour.

3. Just don't expect it will run as good as 5.8l/100km (claimed) at stop & go traffic. Normal federal road/hiway speed limit, i can get just around 5.3. In town, i am still averaging 6.5 to 7. Max refuel 51 ltr when trip LCD range show "0 km"... I like to use Caltex TechronD for smooth power delivery. Petronas give reasonable power but slightly less mileage. Shell feel bit noisy and sluggish but some extra mileage. Test yourself and choice is yours.

Dear Madex,

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll just try the Petronas diesel for comparison..hehe. Yes, my version is the one with electric passenger seat too...it also comes with the rain sensor auto wipe.

Am I reading these units correctly? km/L, and not L/100km? If so, these are pretty bad FC - my old Wira 3-speed auto also can get 12 km/L! smile_thumbup.gif

I think they should meant the same. To convert, it should be around 14 - 15km/l mix, 18 - 19km/l for long distance.

The latest has a new alloy wheels design, has auto light, rain sensor and auto dim rear view mirror. The fog light housing design is also different. The bonnet front lip is body color instead of chrome. I was also told that the full size spare tire also new but if I'm not mistaken the test drive car that I drove also had full size spare and that car was not the latest. I think there's one or two more difference in this latest TDCI but I can't remember. TDCI sedan also suppose to come in but the stock has not arrived and the price is the same as hatch back.

yeah, right on! has anyone got news about the TDCI sedan? Just saw the ad in the newspapers today.

Anyone test drove it?

Anyone got details about it?

BTW, my car does have the auto lights and a full spare tyre. But I can't see the electric seats! How many versions are there?
