hmm, i dont know, never had the chance to try s40, but waja couple of time..wandering what else the trade secret of contis good handling,? let me try to "kaji" something that a car with good handling should have.
1)good chassis geometry---->its so subjective, and what else can we modified?
2)multilink suspension---->difference felt
3)stiffer suspension system---->yes it improved a lot,less body roll but comfort gone
4)chassis strengtening(af)----->feels rigid n firm,less flex..
5)aftermarket bushes---->eliminate body roll but in d expense of comfort.(ktak,ktak all d way)
6)broader rims----> it gv d feeling of ure in ur car, not on ur car..but sikit sangat lah
7)strutbar n bigger arb--->same effect as upgrading suspension system
8)semi bucket seat--->ure glued to d seat firmly..
that 8 factors did improve handling but..its a point a to point b vehicle! bukan nak pergi track..(and im not a track kaki,just wanna hv a good handling car!)i tried an old merc(that has the masterpice emblem,dunno what model)..i like how the car handles..and i personnaly think after all d modification my car still dont felt like that merc
Good point...
Meaning...
A crap car is still a crap car no matter what we do modification on it...
Mmmm... not entirely correct...
On Normal road car... yes... agree...
On Mod-Normal car to race... different...
Especially in races like BTCC, WTCC, Rally, etc.
Proton is quite smart about this matter...
Wira - Karamit Singh - Rally
Waja (Impian) - BTCC (British Touring Car Championship)
Neo - Rally (latest news heard)
These said car are bare strip to the chassis... nothing else... all other parts are mods...
So... a car body chassis plays an important role in a car rigidity and handling...
Everything is just cosmetics and make-up...
Cheers mate...
