My user are using these machine and bought LC 5" backing plate and other pads since he feel the 7" too big. Only complaint from him is started from 1000 rpm , so I told him spreading the product with machine off.

Can spreading the product by on/off on/off the trigger like gun shot.

Price is cheap, only RM320.

Would appreciate if anyone can compare Skil polisher with other China brand ones as price is 50% more.
So, must be either better built or less noisy.. as comment is lowest speed 1000rpm too fast.. any other pros/cons?
Believe like jackson with his China brand if I get this, will very unlikely get a Makita already for DIY..
so should buy or not.. as price is attractive cf Hitachi & Makita cheaper than Bosch even..

If add up the smaller backing plate, wouldn't the price shoot up to RM400+ already?

Also, 1,000rpm starting speed really is too high?

1000rpm is not high. Especially on a china RB 1000rpm is crap as it'll bog down when you apply pressure.

For me china RB I'll use at almost max speed (2500-3000rpm) because it's really really not powerful compared to makita or hitachi @ speed 1700rpm.

and dont forget the noise!

China rb slow speed rpm1000 sounds like makita/hitachi rpm 2500 or even 3000!
It's easy when you know how...

Skil doesn't seems like a bad brand since some of our local bodyshop suppliers carry them, I don't think is quite the same than china brand. Anyway I nv try so nv know. My take is if is possible, try to avoid those unproven china brand. Afterall one of the distinct difference between a rotary and ROB/some DA is the constant force circular rotation upon pressure. If you get a rotary that will bot down with pressure, not good. If you are experience then probably different case since you know how to manipulate weaker machines.
