Proton today launched the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing edition. Limited to 25 units, it is still powered by the 1.6 Campro CPS engine, but tuned to 145hp.
Proton is asking for RM115k, and the car is available for test drive at COE after 10 April.

"The performance result was average at its class with no surprises of maximum speed of 200km/h and 0-100 km/h in 9.2secs. In fact, the Proton Satria GTi R3 that was introduced in late 2004 with 1.8L 4G93P perform even better with 0-100 km/h in 8.2secs and 140whp @ 6100rpm. " Qoute
fair to compare? engine displacement is diff leh.

Been waiting for more details on this car after seeing it in the news.
What are the major difference in tech spec to justify the price tag other than the engine mod?
One more thing,
Great job Proton and errr....can give me one ar?

The other differences include four-pot callipers with slotted discs up front and a completely reworked suspension with revised geometry and adjustable Ohlin shocks all-round.
Of course, whether it's justified... that's up to you to say.

Maybe they have done this...
But I hope that this car is built differently, very much on metal joining, chassis strengthening on monocoque, not very much on installing after market parts...
because...
if it is all about using after market parts, then everyone can buy one normal Neo and source for parts to put in, probably spending less than RM54K. If this is the case, this model will lose its exclusivity... bad for marketing Proton brand...
