Having received a few official press releases (with the possibility of more to come) from various companies regarding the suitability of RON 95 petrol to their cars, I shall compile here, into one thread all the official releases for your easy reference.

Summarizing what we have received thus far, the following cars are RON 95 compatible according to their respective manufacturers

- All Honda cars sold after 2001 officially through Honda Malaysia (except the Civic Type R) are in fact RON 91 compatible (Accord, Civic, City, CR-V, Jazz, Odyssey, Stream), and are, hence, RON 95 compatible

- All Toyota & Lexus cars sold officially through UMW Toyota Motor. This includes the likes of the Corolla, Camry, Vios, RAV4, Fortuner petrol, Wish, & Yaris. Lexus cars (not counting the scores of parallel imported units), like the IS250, GS300, LS460, and RX350 are all cleared for RON95 usage.

- The following Ford models are RON 95 compatible.

LASER LYNX BVNJ (A) [1999]
LASER LYNX BVNH (M) [1999]
LYNX S 1.6SW (BVNK) (A) [1999]
LASER LYNX GHIA BVPB (A) [1995]
LASER LYNX GHIA BVPA (M) [1995]
RS LYNX 2.0L BVRR (A) [2002]
ECONOVAN SPECTRON (A)SV53FM1 [1999]
FOCUS 1.8 [2005 - current]
FOCUS 2.0 [2005 - current]
ECONOVAN [1999]
ESCAPE [2000]
ESCAPE [2004 - current]

Latest update from the Naza group,

Kuala Lumpur, September 8, 2009 – In a statement issued today, The Naza Automotive Group advised owners of Naza, Kia, and Peugeot to use the appropriate fuel for their vehicles.

According to the statement, RON 95 is suitable for the following vehicles: Naza Ria, Naza Citra, Naza Suria, Naza Citra II Rondo, Kia Sportage, Kia Carnival, Kia Carens, Kia Picanto, Kia Optima, Kia Spectra5, Kia Spectra, Kia Rondo, Naza 206 Bestari, Peugeot 206, Peugeot 407, Peugeot 308 Turbo, Peugeot 308 Vti, and Naza Forza.

The Naza Sorento, Kia Sorento and Kia Pregio use diesel.
