Just got back from KL recently, been driving highways around Subang Jaya, PJ, Damansara for 4 days, figured out surprisingly KL highway drivers are really cautious & responsible, almost all of the cars I saw driving in the fast lane would give way to faster cars at the back without hesitation or purposely block other cars simply cause of "beh song"(hokkien). Personally I think KL people's highway driving style and conscience is the best compare to the place where I live and work, which is PG and Kedah. smile_big.gif The most obvious example would be the Penang bridge, altho it has been expanded to 3 lanes per side, but we can still see a lot of people blocking at fast lane and making other people overtake by using the 2 slow lanes to the left, it makes a weird scene for now that the 2 slow lanes to the left become our fast lanes. smile_blackeye.gif And for the people from Kedah, most of the people might drive slow and very careful but just without watching rear view mirror. smile_big.gif

On north-south plus highway, I figured out the most annoying car plates are K -> A -> P. Most of the cars with these 3 region plates are the slowest yet not willing to give way to faster cars at the back during my recent trip to KL and back. I'm sry, the above info is just my own 2cents and would like to share with autoworld forumers, not trying to offend any people from these 3 states(I'm from 2 of these region too smile_big.gif ) but just hoping that every drivers around every state can be like KL drivers, maybe KL has the fastest cars in all over the country, so everybody has get used to be cautious and give way to faster cars from the back. smile_big.gif What's your driving experience to another state?

i totally agree with you. the most kiasu ppl in malaysia will be the penagites. also terrible is the factory buses and the penang airport taxis. i call them the mafias on the road. newbies in penang, be very very caustionus when u drive near the factory busses and penang airport taxis. to identify the airport taxis :white colored cars with the lpkp complaint number at the back. i can still remember when 1 penang taxi ass*ole purposely raced with me...nightmare.

True man, those are white mafias on the road, and if you ever go to PGIA, just be sure you dun park or wait for the person ur gonna pick up at the taxi's lane or else they will give you a long honk and walk out from their car and shout at you like no tomorrow. Such a bad scene for foreign tourist to see... foreign people might as well think that, "just like what I've thought for a third world country." smile_blackeye.gif

Nowadays I dun judge a driver by the number plate. All mixed up rojak already ler.

I'm KLrian but drive JB plate. My colleague JBrian but drive Melaka plate. And JB is full of W plate. And I've few friends from all over the Peninsular, working in Singapore and drive a Singapore plate vehicle. There is so many JBrians driving Singapore plate vehicle. Even one of our company car is Singapore plate. You save S$40 each time you enter Singapore.
Ram me if you can!

We understand that not to worry. You're a polite guy. But occasionally someone will just come in and start attacking, criticising, flamming, even scolding you up to the top of your family tree... smile_disapprove.gif Thats something I personally cannot accept. smile_wink.gif

I have worked in a general insurance company before, and one of its main business is from Motor Insurance. From the claim records, we found out that the least percentage of claims (taking into consideration of the amount of claim versus the population of that state) comes from the state of Melaka. I do not come from Melaka (although my ex-boss was). But this is just from the claims perspective. Does this translate into good manners on the road?
