Hi all,

I am new to this forum and hope to get some advice on buying Citroen in Malaysia.

I have a family of 4 and will be 5 in Nov. Test drive Hyundai Grand Starex, Mitsubishi Grandis, Mazda 5 and Naza Ria before ended with Citroen Grand C4.

The sales team @ Brooklands Motors let test drive it several time and then we decided to book the car but only coming in July 09 - because of configuration and also awaiting finance arrangement.

Want to check the following about Citroen in Malaysia:-
1. Is it really that bad to own a Citroen car in Malaysia? My brother and friends have been telling me to cancel the booking as Grand C4 really gives a lot of problems - suspension, fuel consumption and also expensive maintenance

2. The after sales service of Brooklands Motors is subjectively good or bad? I went by two weeks ago to have a look at the service centre, noticed it is smoking zone and also some customers were complaining about the amount that they have to pay, of which was high

3. Resale value really greatly depreciated?

4. Grand C4 seems to have heat problems? I read this in Singapore forum.

Appreciate your replies and thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Hi tansamuel,

Continental ones would incurr higher maintenance cost than the Jap ones generally.
Well most of us here own more than one Citroen, so it can't be really that bad in fact.

I wouldnt know much about Brooklands but heard they're rather expensive sad.gif

Try reading up more international motoring reviews about the model. You'll have better idea.

Thks Citroeneer for the reply.

The only place that published the problem of the car is in Singapore where few owner had the car checked many times on the overheat issue.

As a new user of national car and now thinking of getting Citroen, any advice? :-)

Thks!

Speaking to Brooklands Motors, there isn't any authorised service centre other than itself. Is it true?

Is there such service centres as approved by Brooklands?

Why is Brooklands service and part pricing to be so high? Purely taxation or profit oriented?

With Brooklands Motors beginning to retrench (if it is true), do you think it is worthwhile to get Citroen?
