So is the maintenance cost of a Neo CPS high? I understand that no car is perfect. But is Neo CPS a car that always have problems? Also, which shop will u recommend to buy Proton in Melaka? How about Bakatmas? wacko.gif

Thanks for your reply laugh.gif

I cannot comment on the long term maintenance cost.I believe all existing Neo CPS haven't reach 10k km on the odo.
Normal lube cost is cheap.
Problems? Right now, only the kluk2 sound is the main concern.I do believe the sc the car is sent to is more than capable in solving the problem on the next service.
Service is done at Eon sc at Peringgit or some call it Batu Hampar.

Where to buy is hard to say.I would suggest to go for place which give the best offer and make things easy for u.
If u wish to stick the "Handling by Lotus" sticker elsewhere, do inform the salesman in advance so he wont stick it at the regular place.
This item is like the crown jewel of the car and hot item among the wannabe.

One more thing,
when u get the car, do let the tyre to scrub in for 1000km.
At this point only the rear will step out a bit when whacking corner at insane speed.
I discover that below that point, the car skates during hard cornering.

Most people does not even know what Lotus is and what CPS is.
They just go for Neo bcoz to them its 'sporty'.

Neo CPS is more expansive bcos the chassis is different from normal NEO.

At least some know that the Lotus Elise uses the Altis engine as per what mentioned by YS Khong in today's Sun and not Proton's proud Campro CPS.

I guess u can really feel the extra power at 4500 rpm as only then it switches to high cam. but any lower than that on 1st and 2nd gear <4500rpm no power. -__- fuel consumption is very good when driven around 3k rpm on average. can reach 400+-km on 50 litres.

will update on any problems after 2nd service and some minor mods. ^^ cheers

I think you meant that fuel consumption is NOT GOOD cos if you can only reach 400+km on 50L, its 1L to 8km or 12.5L for 100km which is very bad for a 1.6L car. Probably cos the engine is still tight. Most 1.6L should give about 12km per litre on mixed driving. Is your Neo a Manual or Auto?

What about the bodykit? Is it firm? I read somewhere that the bodykit kinda loose and may have sounds later on. Also, is the kluk2 sound present in every Neo CPS? What is it actually? I'm also concern about going over speed bumps cos the bodykit kinda low. Please advise. smile_blush.gif

The bodykit is solid. No rattling whatsoever.
Even when i went like crazy.
Only thing that is firm is the suspension.

The sound on my sis car haven't been rectify yet. Will check on next service.

Dun worry about the height,it looks very low but if you look closer its normal.
So far no scraping on speed bumps.
If not confident then hav to senget lah.

I strongly suggest u go for a test drive. However i dont know which showroom in Melaka has a test drive unit.

So, your sis bought the car without test driving it? I have not seen a single Neo CPS in Melaka so far. BTW, what do you mean the suspension is firm? Melaka has a lot of bumpy roads smile_angry.gif
Also, what does electronic side mirrors mean? Can they be closed when a car is parked to avoid being bang?

Well, she just like the looks of the car.Luckily i manage to persuade her to get the manual version so from time to time i get to drive it like how it should be driven. My sis is teaching in kluang so i only get to drive the car sometimes.
I make the most out of every chance smile_tongue.gif

The ride is what u expect from a car that is built to corner like a housefly.
The 55 series tyre adds to the damage.
U can feel the road surface on your bottom, back and the steering wheel.
Its not bad actually but maybe its just my preference to hav a car that is comfortable that will absorb minor bumps without tranfering the energy into my body.

In the Neo CPS, only the side mirror is electric adjusted.
It does not hav the auto flip functin which surprises me.

BTW, i work at DK composite and sometimes had lunch at the kontena R&R.
Do say hi if u see me in a silver BLM.
