My dear bold owners..

I'm considering bold for the sleek design, powerful engine and gadgeteries inside ( i.e dvd, reverse camera bla bla)

But being a proton product, and with complications of the turbo setup, can this beast perform well over 9 years ( not rich la..plan to use till abis loan term)?

Techy guru's or any proton affiliates, be it engineers or fans, can please enlighten me..

Thank you in advance..

I have zero faith with Proton.

My car have been in the COSE for 2 days. yet they have not fix it. Now it have to stay there for another day, it is, it will not able to fix all my complaint, just will solve the engine die problem.

To those who want to buy a car as a mode of transport, stay away from Proton.

Those who want to buy a car just to send to service Center, buy at all means.

I really don't know what to say.

After my car sitting in the service centre for 3 days. I got my car back with warp brake disc. I drive my car daily at 120kmh daily without problem until it is send to service. My mileage is less than 5000 km.

Now have to schedule another visit. 2 months old and 5 visits is too much for me.

Hi yeongcl,
very sorry n fully understand ur frustration now.. How's ur CFE bold now??
I think we are in the same fate.. Got my CFE bold in Jan, now mileage is 6k plus km. Seldom use..

1st problem observed, started when mileage reached 3k km, felt like there's misfiring (choking) during idling at "N"
Complaint to proton, they juz reset error.. problem still there, I use the car like normal coz although choking, but the engine
did not stalls..

After a couple of weeks, while driving, cvt light-up, turbo not working (no power), air-con blows hot air.. then my CFE sits
in SC for two weeks. When I got my car back, the job discription shows, OCV valves & sensor been changed. Tested the car,
everything was back to normal.. But not for long, after another 1k km used, the choking came back!! But this time,
engine dies off at traffic light.. It has already happened 3 times.

At tis moment, my CFE is back in the SC.. The problem is, the choking & engine stalls doesn't always happen.. From my
observation, choking happens when the cooling on & off during hot weather esp at noon, probably during that time the
engine is running really hot..
I wonder how many EB CFE having this choking problem, or its just the two of us (exceptional case..)
I'm kinda' frustrated & regret at this moment, this is my first purchase of proton brand.. sad.gif

Today, I spoke to the SA concerning my CFE bold. He told me, the choking & engine stalls is due to CPS OCV valve faulty again.. huh.gif
At the moment, waiting for the parts to arrive. I really have doubt if this second time OCV valve changed can last.. Was told
that the supplier for OCV valve is from BOSCH. To me, Bosch this is indeed a well known brand & I'm worry now, this
OCV valve cannot last due to design problem!!
I insist for more explanation from the SA, but he keeps his mouth shut!! smile_angry.gif
Really disappointed !!! smile_disapprove.gif smile_disapprove.gif

Bosch is well known. However go to Tesco and read the box of a Bosch power tools, its made in China.
I am not saying china made is lousy. Its the qc to be blame.
Its not all proton's fault as they should discover it during the thousands of testing miles if its a design problem.
Its normal for some manufacturer or supplier to loosen their qc when they have secured a contract.
Its when they loosen it too much this sort of thing occur.

Have u guys heard of the warping disc of toyota camry?
Toyota is reputable and know as a very reliable brand but a warped disc?
Last time Merc also affected by blown turbo, not here but model in germany.

Same reason why some Bold CVT sounded louder than others. Punchpowertrain factory is in Chna.

I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.
