My 206 went for the 4th service last weekend, it's 40000km. Was told it's a major service.
Here's the bill for the service at the service center.
1. Oil Filter --------------------------- RM52.70
2. Washer --------------------------- RM8.70
3. Fuel Filter ------------------------- RM45.50
4. Manual Gearbox Oil 2L --------- RM138.30
5. Pollen Filter ----------------------- RM98.30
6. Spark Plugs----- 4 x RM32.90 = RM131.60
7. Cooling Liquid Drum 5L --------- RM69.20
8. Wiper Blade RH ------------------- RM88.90
9. Wiper Blade LH ------------------- RM69.90
10. 40000km Service Labour ------ RM100.00
11. Misc Labour ---------------------- RM5.00
Total bill RM807.80
Labour charge is still acceptable. But I would go get parts from spare parts shop for my next service.
Notice that there's no engine oil and air filter in the list above. That's because I have bought Total Quartz 7000 SM 10W40 oil from another workshop because I do not want to use Petronas Synthium. 4L, RM96. And I don't have to change the air filter because I am not using the stock intake.
A pair of front wipers now cost RM158.80 !! ??
1-2 years ago it cost RM76+RM60 = RM 136 and even at that price I found it to be superbly ridicilous and almost lunatic for a pair of mere rubber wipers that usually last ~8 months (before the rubber degrade beyond safe use).
Compatible aftermarket (reputable brands e.g. valeo and bosch) wipers (albeit some simple DIY is needed) could be obtained for well below RM50 per pair.. so what justify the huge huge price difference (>RM100) here?
Pollen filter almost touching RM100?? It should be max 2/3 of that.
So does the fuel filter, RM35 is enough lah.
and i dont want to talk (again) about the drain plug washer price.
WE want to support you and buy original parts but how could we when your price for all parts are crazily exhorbitant?
Nasim / Peugeot should immediately do a comparison with other marque and with the findings, place yourself as leader in offering low-cost, reasonable original spare parts (rather than price it similar with let say, honda). why? coz Honda have better and higher image (and in reality too) on quality and reliability for its cars and its original parts in comparison to Peugeot.
People don't believe anymore about the saying that continental parts last longer.
Volvo maybe but Peugeot? .. eemmmm...
Admittedly, i do know a bit here and there about the challenges faced by Nasim with regards to parts price.
But this couldn't be used as an excuse (anymore) to have a parts pricing strategy that will eventually kill all the good things that happpening to the brand now.
You spent millions on marketing and setting up the dealership just to kill yourself over parts price?
You want your after sales to perform a 'harakiri' onto yourself?
After so many times this is happenning to a continental brand?
Gosh.. why it is so hard to learn from experience of others?
I do hope rational will win over the urgency to made quick super buck (or 100-300% profit margin) over here.
