Hi Mean,
Yes I believe he is still driving the 164 we are now in different
building so I don't see him that much.

gUNSHEAD,
Enjoy your DIY session, mine had a long list too.

Hi Mean,
Yup sold my 144 to a pakcik. Wasn't a smooth transaction though with
the other party stalling payment for 1 year.

hi everyone,

I'm searching for a used 144DL/GL model 1972-75. so far i only got 1
offer. anybody want to sell a 144 or knew somebody that wanted to do the
same? my budget is around RM2k-3k.

since some of us had been familiar with 144, what are the advices and
precautions before buying a used 144?

Hi emechelmi,
One of the things that went bust is the fuel gauge sensor which is
attached to the fuel tank. I couldn't find a working spare and so it
became rather inconvenient to gauge how much petrol i had. Also the fuel
hose tends to leak so not a good idea to fill to the brim. Mine leak in
to the boot and took a while to sponges up all the excess petrol.
Chemically burn my hands (expose to the petrol) in the process.

Alex.

AOC, thanks for the info. Just bought a 144DL 1974 model few days ago.
you are right indeed. the previous owner confirmed that there is a
problem with fuel gauge. when the needle reaches a quarter from E, it is
actually almost empty.

overall, the engine is still ok. electronic ignition. exterior appearence
is fair. some ornamental trims are missing. some rust spots were already
controlled (removed and painted with antirust primer).

could you suggest to me where to source for a wheel cover? mine is
missing . new front grille and fender badges/emblem will improve the
appearance.

have the insurance and the road tax just expired about 6 months...the car
is still in good condition and except its not been used for about 2 years
but the owner always warm up the engine...the body may need some welding
work and the owner also give me the new front door(each side) and also
some spare part...he don't have any intention to sell the car, but if i
want the price is RM 3k...how u think frenz..is it ok that price

Form Volvo forum:

There is a mechanic shop in Tanjung Bungah that imports half cuts of
940s, 740s, and 240s. The owner's name is Ah Hock. Phone number is
048993322 or 0164203322. Normally he will use only the engine for engine
transplants and sells the other parts like dashboards, front lights,
transmissions, doors and trims separately. The address is Solar Auto,
598M, Jalan Lembah Permai, 11200 Tanjung Bungah. The landmark is Tanjung
Bungah's Maybank at the traffic light, take that road going uphill and
the shop is on the right just next to a temple.
