Hi Volvo sifus,
I'm glad we have Glock around who has experience reparing the ABS module.
I am driving a 850SE and having this ABS light on.
am thinking of buying a used module from the "potong kereta" shop
instead of making the swap by the spec mechanic. You guys think it is
advisable or not?
By the way, Glock17, I live in KL but if I see you in Penang, how do I
get in touch with you for the repair?
Hope to get some advise from all of you. Thanks a lot.

3936,
FYI, used module from potong-shop also come and see me lar ... coz
then can make big bucks out of it. Who want to jeapordise their own
safety and their family's ? One thousand is the average cost for a
repaired unit from the shops in KL. I'm actually sending an average of 10
pcs per month to a shop in KL and I give them one year warranty. I only
charge a small fraction compared to them as they are the ones who do the
marketing and I just sit at home and repair them during my free time.
So far my record is 100% and the shop also very prompt in their payment.
We sent them to & fro using POSLAJU which is reliable and delivery
straight to the door (provided you're at home). I also have some spares
ready for fast repalcements. If interesterd, you can e-mail me using this
Autoworld's e-mail address but if you're a verified VOCM member, just get
one of the guys to pass you my handphone no., I think they'll have it and
I'll owe them a TT.
I just told someone in an e-mail that a functioning ABS module does make
the car go faster - some ECU safety measure - Believe It Or Not...
Oh, I do come down to KL sometimes and maybe you're coming up to Penang,
Ipoh, etc ? I'm thinking of meeting in Ipoh with other VOCM members next
weekend.

Glock19,
May I may a suggestion? As some of us are not familiar at all as to the
location of the ABS Modulator, could you please provide some sort of
general instructions as to where exactly is the ABS Module located within
the engine compartment bay (at first, I thought it was at each of the four
wheels). Also if you could, give instructions as to how to take them out
so we may POSLAJU them to you, in the best of manner, that you may salvage.
Not many of us are very well-versed with the modulator as you are, bro.
Better still, put the instruction in the VOCM page lah, easier for people
to verify.
:) Just a thought for you to increase business.
Then, we can talk about the TT-session that you have to sponsor. By
the way, someone may approach you soon on the ABS thing.

Thanks AB,
I wonder if Jeff could have a site (for all of us) to just post pictures
so that we can all DIY. A picture is really worth a thousand words. Maybe
I'll try Autoworld's picture gallery first. Give me a few days to take
some pictures.

glock19, in the absence of a specific site for the pictures, you can
request for them to be posted temporarily at the VOCM picture gallery
first.

AB,
Good suggestion. Over time, we will have a DIY manual to maintain our
cars. Very timely, bro, I was going to seek help from my previous
Citreon mechanic to remove the thing, lah!
Glock,
Thanks in advance the step by step with pictures. I got some pix from the
site below. However, it does not look like the 850 we drive.
Do ck it out, guys.
