recommending his version of snake oil by using Johnson&Johnson Baby Lotion
for the leather. And another using leather care, TurtleWax or something
like that.
After veiwing their car seats:
Baby Lotion -- very soft and comfy, still like new after 3 years, and
smells like a baby was in it
Wax -- so,so condition but has that nice leather smell in it, also about 3
years old
I have no idea what the long term repurcussion of using Baby Lotion but
the leather seats are definitely soft.
What are your opinions on this? And does anyone have better snake oils?

seat. Well I think the logic is there, the lotion will keep the leather
stay moist, that's how they stay soft all along.
For the kind of leather we have on our Volvo, I think this 2 type of
lotions is good enough, unless you are talking about 100% pure leather
seat that cost few thousand, than may be need a more expensive leather
wax/polish but I have not come accross such better wax yet

I should think using baby lotion is a cheap alternative but no idea what
will happen in long term.

cures. Personally, I use the leather care products from Armourall. It not
greasy or oily. Simply spray on and buff off.
In any case, I'll give the baby oil treatment a go on the rear seats the
next time they are due for treatment. That should be next month. Given our
HOT weather, I treat my leather every 3 months or so.

leather. Just assuming baby lotion has been use by our baby for decade
now, nothing happen. Therefore, I really doubt our car leather seat can be
harm by such `baby friendly` lotion, in fact I may start using baby lotion
once my leather wax finish

Keeping them in good shape so it retain the moisture...
The car leather is made of ......skin, similarly to yours albeit a lot
more tougher.
Only concern is that color/covering on the leather, how it react over the
years which usually crack!
My buddy bought a 1968 Nissan 280ZX in 1991. It is in immaculate
condition, the leather and dashboard is not crack at all. The previous
owner uses vaseline to care of the car, the one that wifey and ladies uses
to keep skin smooth. This is was in US!

Just as long as we make them believe that they are the Numero Uno, things
will be fine....
