if ur gonna get new cables I recommend bougicord (OEM). I`ve tried others
and after a while the caps on the inside of the boot always come loose and
frayed when I`m changing the spark plugs. Cost a tiny bit more but I`ll
last you for at least another 10 years
This is not related to your problem but just wondering, have you had your
car painted?

Bougicord is the german one?? I called Yonit the other day, they told me
that 'GERMAN ONE' will cost RM155 for all 5 cables, but dunno which brand
is that GERMAN ONE mentioned by them... the ORI costs RM210 for 4 cables
and the cable from coil cost another RM65... very expensive maa...
btw, nope, we didn't had the car painted yet as time really doesn't permit
.. we heavily rely on that car, so it is so difficult to find an ideal
time to let the car rest... ermm... luckily we didn't manage to paint it
because while i'm being hosptalised, my brother (just got his license)
drove the car.. he hit gate on front bumper, there goes 'green color mark'
on the bumper... also plate no pecah... dunno what he hit.. he also dunn
what he hit... :( nak marah, tapi its OK because he's just started
learning....

recall paying more than a $100. I have to check my receipts but I'm pretty
sure it was not that expensive. And that included the coil cable too.
I can't recall if Bougicord is german, I always thought it was french.
Anyway don't get the Ori one with the volvo name printed on the cable. Get
the bougicord brand. That volvo name itself will push the price up. If you
have a look at new volvos (740 & 940) the cable has bougicord written on
it. Try to get a quotation from another spare part shop.

now i confirmed that cables are defect.. know what, while checking them
with the engine running, i was fated to touch one portion of the cable
'boot'... that portion give me a SHOCK!! i got electric pulse from them..
now i'm very sure that the cables are defected, insulation deteriorated..
huh, but i never thought that this is the best way to confirm that ur
cables are gone (by having electric shock... it's quite high, i was stick
on it for less than a second, new & great xperience...)
Newkelisa,
how much the bougicard exactly costs u?? for 4 cables / all 5 cables??
thanks..

Ouch .. hands on confirmation. Have you tried looking for sparks at night?
I heard that's another way to confirm them without getting fried but I've
never actually seen or done that, just wondering.
Bout the cables they came in a sealed plastic package which included all 5
cables. Got em for $150 many many years ago. Hmm ... my memory isn't as
sharp as it was so sorry for the misquotation.
However saying that it might have gone up I reckon with the euro going up.
Mind you I bought it when the euro didn't exist yet. Hope this help.

The 8mm Yellow one cost about RM50/5 , it is for all cable runing cars. Or
if you can pay , a new set original from Volvo may cost at least few
hundred ringgit !!

start. The cable are build with from silicon base material to suppress any
interfarence to your radio and to avoid any leak of current to the places
that the cable touches. For you cable maybe there is one or two area that
led to spark when the cable is hot !! I have used the yellow one for 3
years until I change agian later after suspecting a misfire which
eventually a wrong judgement...anyway good luck
