I hear a lot mentioned about the 850 T5 here but seldom about hte V70 T5.
I believe the 850 T5 with its sharp looks is a bit more rugged than the
rounded V70.

I am very interested in getting one but am not decided on which. I know
the V70 is much more expensive but more recent and the 850 is already a
bit aged (sorry guys and gals). I still like the 850. Think it can still
go one for another 10 years? (for life???)

Appreciate your feedbacks.

you came to the right place. a lot of sifus and 850 owner will response to you.

i bought a 2ndhand v70 T5 couple of months back. several volvo sifus saw the car
and commented some differences. But mostly external. Of course mine is a 2.3 L
which makes some difference in power (and also sob sob..road tax). I personally
prefer the gentle and more subtle look of the V70 and also the interior..but then, I
own one remember?

but i think overall, if you can get a good 850 or a V70, its always worth it.

strange...there has been flood of people buying these wagons lately.....and some
are still searching for the right one...

you might be the next!

I remember a few years back, when volvo appointed its new head of design,
he mentioned "We are throwing the box, but we keep the toys" or something
like that when he commented about the new volvo design that appears more
curve than squares.

As for me, since I knew volvo in my childhood, the "kotak" elements that
fascinated me a lot, but interm of human-machine interface; I prefer the
ergonomic shapes than squares i.e in the cabin, the dashboard, etc. To
relate to this topic, for a T5, I prefer the 850 exterior; if possible
wud like the V70 interior inside it Tongue.

Can we transfer the V70 interior into the 850 T5, changing the dashboard,
steering, door panel, center console etc? Like what they done with a lot
of mitsus & wira?

Jus a 2 cts tots

The interior of the 850T5 & V70T5 should be interchangeable as basically,
they are the same car. However, would it be cost justified?

hi all

i am looking at acquiring at T5 (either the 850 or the V70). The 2 that i
have shortlisted are as follows:

1)late yr 95, 850 T5, mileage 140 KM, fully loaded with cruise, child
seats, engine in good condition Asking for RM 63K.

2)Yr 97/ registered late 98, V70 , mileage 120KM, full FA service
history, no child seat, good ori condition. Asking for RM 92K.

The 850 T5 has a harsh ride and the dash rattles but then it is abt 30K
cheaper. Can i reduce the harsh ride by tweeking the suspension and at
the same time save me some dosh.

comments appreciated. thanks

hai there russ,

if u have 30k extra, a lot can b done to the 855 T5, not saying that V70
T5 is not a good car( it is good), dash board, can b fixed -
glock19/kenari1 can advised u on that, harsh driving, may b new sports
suspension/dampers set up plus 55 tyres might help.

and i believe u have extra to play around.

good luck in u r search.

just my 1/2 cents opi.

fly now.................

Hi russ,

Before you buy the car, sent it to workshop(with the OBD II reader) for
checking.
My car dash also rattle a bit but this is normal for a 8 yrs car but as
marlin say, can be touch up.
V70 does not come with child seat at the back. it has more feature that
850 but the price is really different. It is up to your budget.

T5 bug on the loose, watch out!!!!!!Evil
