I have been asking around. Those GSM alarm tracking system cost about
Rm1400 - Rm2000.

But there is one shop offer Rm1400 (complete set). I think is IES or IEQ
QES. Can't really remember the brand. Saying it uses the sonyericsson
board. Then he also offer only the GSM add-on (china made) to existing
alarm. RM 750. Quite a interesting price. Any comment. Anybody try this
before?

alvinlimms,

GSM alarm is different level from GPS/GSM vehicle tracking system. Let
explain a little on bit this

1. Accuracy of the location - GSM alarm actually uses friend finder
service from telco. The accuracy of the location is the main issue.
Normally the accuracy of the location varies from a range of 2km - 20km.
For example, i have done a trial to use the friend finder service to
locate my friend and it only tells me that the location is Taman Kajang
Utama. Do you guys know how huge is the Taman Kajang Utama. Do you expect
the police to serach the whole taman to look for your vehicle in case it
is lost???
2. The running cost of the service - Do anyone of you know how much is
the cost to locate the vehicle each time?? The telco will charge you
15sens for requesting the location and another 30sens for the result for
the location request. So, total will be 45sens each time you request for
the car location. A simple calculation, let say u locate your vehicle
twice a day just to make the vehicle is still there safe and 1 month it
will cost you about RM27.
3. Is there any control center to response to the emergency situation
such as car theft or hijack situation??? ( Because you mention the
product is from China or is the shop going to set up a control center??)

I always believe you only get what you pay for. But, everyone have their
own choice in selecting a security system for his/her vehicle. This is
just my observation to share with all the guys here. Just my 2cents.

i agreed with GPStracker.

I have see the IES model. The shop offer me at RM2100 include
installation. But only 016 and 012 only have the service friend finder.
Others not.

GPStracker sounds ok.

But i need testimoni from exixting user. Does anyone used it?

How many cut off for the system to stop the car?
