Hi Bro,

Actually my father is the owner of this ERV and he got no choice but to
send back to Lion Motor, Suzuki Authorised service center to service his
car.

My father use to service at the one located in Segambut. For air cond. my
father send to a recommended air cond service center by Lion Motor
located in Kampung Pandan, Harrison Air Cond.

My father also change a don't know what sensor which control the fuel.
According to LIon Motor, they know that this part is the common part
which most of the ERV will need to replace at approx. 50,000km.

What is the function of that part. Recently I also notice my father ERV
RPM will drop to approx. 500 - 600rpm and this has cause the engine to
vibrate. I notice this will only happen sometimes during braking when
slowing down for a bump or a traffic light. Lion Motor already check the
ECU using the diagnostic equipment and didn't find any problem with it.

Below are some of the issues I can share with you.
I couldn't find the oil filter for this suzuki ERV as most of the spare
part shop only carry oil filter for Suzuki Vitara. My father has one
period (approx. 2yr ++) service outside and quite a number of problem
occurs as they are all that well verse with this car. Another issue is
LIon Motor will insist on using 20w50 mineral oil. i argue with them why
the user manual handbook recommended to use either 10w30 or 10w40 or even
15w40 and they said that is the for Japanese condition and not suitable
for M'sia. What a stupid answer they give.

They normally will use the P2 oil filter and it will protrude out
slightly out from the engine bay and might hit some curb if the level is
high. Besides that they always underfill the engine oil as this car needs
5L of crankcase oil. They will also neglect the rear differential oil
change.

The radiator leaked while in the middle of town driving. Need to tow back
and get the radiator repaired.

Timing belt according to the Lion Moter can last until 100,000km for the
original unit fitted from Japan with the car. Make sure you change the
water pump together with the timing belt as the water pump will about to
give way the same time when you change the timing belt. This will save
you on the labour cost because you will not need to open up all the thing
again.

I would suggest you not to use their coolant as damn lot of rust will get
clogged inside. I sent it to perform a complete flush and then fill up
back with the Toyota Long Life coolant at a 50:50 ratio with water. Just
very little rust you will get to see in the reservoir spare tank. What I
did was I filter out the rust and pour back the coolant mixture back into
it. You may top up some fresh coolant also if you want.

Alternator has also been change to a new unit which cost approx. RM300++.

The only part I manage to get from the sparepart shop is the air filter
which cost RM40/pc (I have to get 3pc to get that price)

Currently my Father ERV mileage is approx. 80,000km

Cheers

Hi Bro,

I just found out by glancing through the receipts of my father ERV
servicing & maintenance record. Actually the timing belt has already been
changed at 65,000 km service interval at a cost of approx. RM181 for work
manship & RM110++ for the belt price.

Actually the foreman did exactly as you said, he weld back the joint and
now so far trouble free. FYI, the Lion Motor actually has already block
the coolant from travelling to the heater. According to him, one of the
reason for huge amount of rust being accumulated is due to the non
tropicalised design of the heater which was still there when the car was
bring in.

May I know the contact no and the name of the spare part shop in Sea
Park. Is it the very popular in most of the forum, PH Auto?

Actually what will the cause if the cam shaft sensor has become
malfunction? If I remember from what my father told me that the foreman
actually said that the car will semput semput like will mati engine if
jalan in the middle of a journey. Correct or not ah?

Besides that, also from the Lion Motor foreman regarding the RPM drop
during braking, he said that it was due to the aging of one of the flap
(I think the throttle body flap) which has become less sensitve to the
intake of air during the air con compressor kick in, which has cause the
air intake to the manifold to become insufficient. Don't know true or
not, or due you think again due to the 2nd round lifespan of the replaced
camshaft sensor?

Thanks

Hi Bro,

I will be away outstation and only will be back next week. I'll check out
for you when I come back

Regarding the timing belt price, maybe I look wrongly as I saw 2 prices,
one was RM180++ and another was RM110++. Maybe the timing belt price at
the Lion Motor was RM180++ and the upah was RM110++

Kindly update the price for the camshaft selling price at Lion Motor
after I got the contact no.

Thanks

Hi Kunir,

I just back and will send you the contact once I'm free.

FYI, my father actually also installed those bars and side steps through
the sales person before he got the car.

Maybe you can check out Shamsul Auto from the web site as they are the
only one (I think) has all this bars for ERV. You can also give them a
call as they seldom reply to mail as I did check out with them before on
the air press which they no longer has stock.

Thanks

Hi bro Kunir,

I just manage to get the no of Shamsul Auto by chance
Tel:03-62779082
Fax:03-62758749

FYI, my father ERV the latch or knob which is use to fold the last row of
seat has broken. Manage to get from PH AUto and guess what, it cost RM22
for just that 1 piece of knob. It is ori imported from Japan part. The
part for this car is really expensive.
