i don't think bashing is relevent here...
anyway... i'm not driving a putra and have never owned a proton before...
but i must say that putra is a nice looking car and quite unique since it
is a coupe even if it is a proton.
got a friend who had one. to get performance i would say that a 4G93T
transplant is powerful enuf for your daily needs. if u wanna be a drag
racing champ then you have to find other solutions.
i think a putra is powerful enuf for me even though a stock standard putra
can be beaten by a 1.6 DOHC VTEC civic. so if u think like me... replacing
that hood with the one from mirage is one way of making it 'different' then
that promote bumper sure looks good...

i used to drive a putra....then got into a nasty accident (thanks to the
tow truck buggers who sabotaged the road with oil), then sold it off.
And then, i took over my cousin`s putra. Stock and tip top condition.
no regrets. This means i have been driving putras (2 putras..heheh!)
since year 2000.
I`m happy with the performance level of a stock putra...so i am not
really into modifying the car. So far, the only thing i did was to
change to a drop-in K&N and a ram cold-air.
ask you guys, my cousin gave me an open-pod K&N...but i`m reluctant to
install it into my car since i`m happy with the performance from the drop-
in K&N. What kind of difference i will gain from using open-pod air
filter? (**besides it roars louder).

Most agree. I would stay away from the open pod unless there's decent CAI
piping or heat shield as without these you're just sucking in the
engine's hot air.

Putra is definitely a nice looking coupe until some blokes decide that
they cant afford a Rex, so they painted it blue with gold wheels to make
it look like one.
Stock standard putra lowered with 16" wheels still look gorgeous to me.

hahaha... yup... agreed on that even though the results are sometimes amazing.
if i have one i would do the following
1. mirage dashboard + door trim
2. red colour
3. 16" enkei RS5 (always wanted these rims) with 205/45/16
4. Mivec engine
5. mirage hood
6. promote bumper
7. small spoiler
8. lowering springs with matching shocks
ok... anyone selling putra body only? heheh

faisal,
i don't think it's a good decision to put mivec engine in putra. wut u
need is only it's head and ecu. just take of the stock head and replace it
with mivec head. that's all. now u have a 1.8 mivec which more powerful
than stock 1.6 mivec. however, promote bumper + impreza spoiler =
