this what happens when u have high expectation from a bread and butter car. i own accord cp1 and to me its a point a to b car. since your civic has good resale value, why dont u trade for something u think its better. sorry chap, in malaysia, what ever car you buy will have some issues. so its better to live with a known problem then unknown!

are asking ppl to swallow the shit that corporate companies are dishing out? dude wrong mentality man.
it's thanks to this kinda of "tidak apa" attitude that companies in malaysia can get away with murder coz the consumer is just so freaking ignorant of their rights + lack of enforcement! OP is just so damn frustrated that he paid >100k for a car he thought would be of much better quality than wat he got. And he has a right to voice that out of course. Continue keeping quiet and taking the shit will make things better for who?

I'm still driving my Civic year '98, bought during kah motor's heyday. Buyers were then forced to buy unnecessary accessories, hence the hilarious sofa-like seat covers, parking-pole that stays upright forever and you-name-it, they-have-it goodies.
Despite all of the above, the mechanicals, the drivetrain, the power-windows et al have stood the test of time despite yours truly's abuse. I used to set my sights on the fd2 civic. But having second thoughts after reading all about the problems and brush-offs. Then again, not that I can afford the inflated price in my current economic situation.

Better quality build and FC.
Avante can get 10 - 11 KM /L
I'm very surprise that Civic 2.0 FC is much higher and make me laugh .. no auto lock ... muahahahah

My sister honda FD2 giving problem again and again . With the milleage of 80000 km for 2 years usage problem coming non stop. Last time ask her not to buy then she still want. Sell got value got what use. Time of ownership already giving so much problem and waste money. Sell now also waste RM 30k minimum.
This time is the wheel bearing rear side. Giving loud whooosh sound if drive more than 50 km/h same with ah beng car with modify exhaust. Confirm Need RM 300 ++ per side for so called original honda thailand parts.
Brake pads for the front just changed three month ago now turning bald. Last time changed original honda nissin. coz nearly RM 200. Brake disc kena skimming. Cher.... Another more RM 80 per pair for skimming.
Now must changed again. Then rear side also turning bald .Disc brake also need skimming. Try to source for after market bendix metal king titanium less than RM 200 per pair.
Engine oil switch change two times for RM 100 something per time.
The water pump hose fittig gcan come out itself while driving. LOusy nak mampus. Stop at roadside waiting for assistance.
everytime need more than 4 litre of engine oil to pour into engine.
Don't support buta buta lar japanese car supporter. Must open mind.
My family have Myvi, Perdana 2005 mod, Exora. All only just do normal servicing. No problems la like you making up. I used to drive Wira got no problems except for window power in front. After changing the gear, no more problem la. My sister got Civic 2010. No problem also. She only wish she bought Toyota instead but that is another story.
