I believe dchong is correct on his info because, although normal Iridium
spark plugs have iridium central electrode, the side electrode is not made
of long-lasting tough metals like platinum or iridium. It's probably
nothing more than what your normal copper spark plugs contain in their side
electrodes.

If you want long-lasting spark plugs, you need to get one that also has a
side electrode (or at least the tip) made of platinum/iridium.

Hi,

We are a authorised Iridium Club dealer. Our info is from Denso itself.

As a responsible dealer, we should give the bare facts (not simply any
claims to induce sales) & more importantly, the Correct Heat range & size
to suit yr particular car. BTW, we have to carry over 15 different models.

There are 4 types of Iridium plugs from Denso...

1) Iridium LONG LIFE range is a 100k plug with a 0.8mm electrode. Used as
OEM equipment on higher end cars. U normally get them from SCs.

2) Iridium POWER range is a Hi performnce spark plug. The center electrode
is ultra fine (0.4mm) making it super efficient. As with any Hi
performance product, eg tyres, life is not a criteria, performmance Is. It
is for ppl who want improved power, smoothness & therefore hopefully
better FC.

3) The Iridium TOUGH offers both Power & Long life (80k). That is why it
is most popular at our place.

4) Iridium RACE....would probably lasts 2k km.

Cheers,

DChong

Iridium can last as long as you dont feels hesitant when you floor the
accelerator to the fullest. But you needs to take out and cleans it every
year for carbon deposits.

So far I have used for 25000km. Just checked the plugs 4 days ago during
oil change. The tip still clean, very slight carbonized trace. put it back
and use.
